philopsophy and Snapfish allow consumers to create keepsake books to benefit
the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund

philosophy, a lifestyle brand that celebrates feeling well and living joyously, is working with Snapfish, the no. 1 online photo service, to “create for a cure” to benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s (EIF) Women’s Cancer Research Fund.   Beginning today, users can visit www.snapfish.com/philosophy to create a “you color my day” photo and art book to celebrate and honor the people who make a significant difference in their lives.

The personalized books allow consumers to upload personal photos, artwork and custom notes to create a photo book celebrating the lives of those who have special meaning to them.  For each book that is created, Snapfish will donate 50 percent of net proceeds to philosophy’s “she colors my day” project, which directly benefits the EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

philosophy’s “she colors my day” project began when Annette, a mother with breast cancer, created a keepsake for her four daughters.  Unbeknownst to Annette, a long-time Nordstrom employee and nurturer of the philosophy brand, her act of love would become the inspiration for philosophy founder and creator, Cristina Carlino, to begin the “she colors my day” movement.  Carlino began by writing a song about her daughter Grace that would later be recorded by Grammy award winner, Amy Grant.

“‘she colors my day’ is a not-for-profit initiative that brings mothers and daughters together to create a cure for women’s cancers by sending a message of hope and healing – whether we are sick or well, we must create a legacy for ourselves and others,” said Karolyn Stayer of philosophy.  “And Snapfish is the perfect creative partner to help people everywhere celebrate the men, women and children who color their world.”

“Snapfish is pleased to be working with philosophy and the EIF Women’s Cancer Research Fund, as we’ve been a long-time supporter of breast cancer awareness,” said Kevin Frisch, chief marketer at Snapfish.  “‘you color my day’ photo books will give consumers a unique opportunity to create a memorable, timeless gift for the special people in their lives.”

The Snapfish “you color my day” books will arrive in time for Mother’s Day if ordered on or before May 1.

In addition to the photo book, customers may purchase philosophy’s “she colors my day” fantasy bubble bath and listen to the “she colors my day” song, recorded by Amy Grant by visiting http://www.shecolorsmyday.com.  philosophy will donate 100 percent of net proceeds to benefit the cause.  Beginning May 5, Amy Grant will release a four song ep, entitled “she colors my day,” exclusive to iTunes.   All artist and publishing royalties generated by the sale of the song “she colors my day” will go to the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s (EIF) Women’s Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).

To encourage visitors to celebrate the cause and create for a cure, Snapfish and philosophy will hold a Mother’s Day contest beginning today through May 1, in which 40 winners will receive philosophy’s best sellers collection and a $50 Snapfish gift certificate.

philosophy will also be promoting a contest through its Facebook page, where fans may enter photos of the women that “color their day” into the Facebook fan photo album.  Ten winners will be chosen at random to receive a “she colors my day” gift basket complete with philosophy’s bubble bath, a “she colors my day” keepsake book and a Snapfish gift certificate.
