My daughter is only preschool age. They will feed you breakfast and lunch. I don’t sit in, so I don’t know what they eat, but i make it a point to ask. Usually its the basics, milk, sandwich , apple, sometimes spagetti or stew.
The main problem I have is my daughter is very picky and usually doesn’t eat her lunch at school. So i have to rush when i pick her up to feed her too. She usually only eats a Pb&j sandwich or a lunch meat.
My daughters favorite snacks are Fruit, cheese and crackers, and yogurt.

I just wanted to comment on this subject which I’m glad you brought to light. My little grandson started kindergarten this year in public school. He had went to preschool the year before at a private christain school and there the preschoolers had to taje there lunch so we saw how much he ate of what we sent. He too is very picky at what he will eat and how much. In the public school this year it is cafeteria style for all grades or you can pack your lunch. Knowing they would offer hot foods we were thrilled at this option for him. But after the first 3 days noticing he would come home hungry & grouchy we would ask him what he ate which seemed to be a P&J sandwich his milk and maybe he would name a fruit. So I looked on the schools web site to see they offered hopt foods each day spegetti/barbaque sandwich/chicken nuggets and vegtables fruit or a fruit cup so I was confused as to why he just named P&J. After talking to the school secretary We find out that the kids have the choice of what to tell the lunch workers to place on there tray be it one thing or several and they always daily serve a P&J sanwich no matter what. So he had only been choosing the P&J and nothing eles. I think that is just to much freedom of choice for a kindergartener to pick and eat the right foods. That should only be for the older kids to do. And why have a P&J always there as a choice beside the healthy foods which you know they will pick? You pay $3 each day for them to eat just a P&J with milk. Plus the fact when we ask about him eating and what he choose or ate we soon found out that his teacher does not even eat lunch with his class and that she & all the teachers eat in the staff room with just cafeteria workers watching the kids. So we have now began sending his lunch at least that way it can be chicken noodle soup or things we can heat in the morning in his thermous that will still be warm by lunch and veggies & fruit and other choices of sandwiches that he will eat more of. We still have the issue though that the attendants clear out his lunch box afterwards finding it hard to see what he ate of what we sent him therefore having to ask him daily how much he ate and getting answers that we have to figure out for ourselves like I ate an L shaped of my sandwich or a hurrican shape of my noodles in my cup. Those answers were found funny but not the rest of the subject at hand. I think for presschoolers of young age there should be more observance & planning to this subject on the schools part so we know the little kids have good food to eat & do so. Julie
