I’m really late on this post, my package got lost in the mail several times.

I see all these wonderful ladies in the blogosphere talk about their homemade recipes, and things made from scratch. I think to myself, I really wish I could cook like that, they should enter contests and see if their recipes can jumpstart their career.

Pillsbury Holds a contest every two years for people to submit their recipes, and the winner can win a big prize. The competition for thsi year was held in April, and  Judges  selected 20 recipes to be placed online at www.bakeoff.com in pairs for a period of two weeks for each pair. Consumers can vote for their favorite recipe in each pair. The recipe from each pair that wins the most votes will earn a spot in the final competition, April 11-13, 2010, in Orlando FL.

Voting is limited to one vote per person for each pairing of recipes. to vote you must be registered on www.pillsbury.com  and be 18 yrs of age by May 1, 2009 to participate.

The first pair of recipes was posted on May 14, and a new pair of recipes will be posted every 2 weeks.  The voting period for the final tenth recipe will end on Oct. 1, 2009

Here is a video featuring Jann Atkis, Bake Off Assistant Kitchen manager showing you how to evaluate recipes.

Thanks to my blogspark for this opportunity
Anna Ginsberg, a stay-at-home mom who you might know from her blog, Cookie Madness, earned the $1 million prize for her Baked Chicken and Spinach Stuffing in the 42nd Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. At the 2004 competition, the 41st Contest, former librarian wrote her own page in history by capturing the top prize with her Oats ‘n Honey Granola Pie recipe. Inspired by pecan pie, Conrad adapted a family-favorite pie and caught the judges’ attention with its wonderful flavor and simple preparation.
