My 23 month old son, has had normal cold symptoms for two weeks. The past couple days though he has had a fever of 104. Tylenol would make it go down, but it would come right back up in a couple hours.
I hesitated the doctor and ER, because i didn’t want to catch H1N1, even though he has been vaccinated. So Wednesday he started having trouble breathing and fever went back up. I finally took him to the ER, and only waited about 5 minutes(good time).
They couldn’t find anything wrong with him, but were worried about his breathing. They decided to schedule chest X-rays, and found pneumonia.
So not knowing much about it, i immediately freaked out. All i knew was it can be deadly. They gave me a prescription for amoxicillin and set me home.
that simple. who knew?
Now a few days later he is his perky old self and fevers gone.
Have you ever had pneumonia or are you prepared for it this flu season?
I have not had that, but I am sure you were really scared! I have a 16 month son and would totally freak out..I hope that your son starts feeling better soon!
I hope now that you have an answer you and your little one can enjoy the rest of your weekend! Feel better soon.
same thing happened with both the boys!I am glad your little one is better now.My grandson kolby (age 4) started running fever last night and throwing up.If no better this morning he will be going to er.appreciate yours and any readers prayers for him.
Glad to hear he is feeling better, Our youngest get pneumonia often. I can usually listen to her chest and if you hear a sound like tissue paper crinkling, I can tell she has pneumonia. Another thing sometimes she will have a bad cough but no fever, I learned from our Doctor, that you need a fever to fight infection, if no fever their bodies are not fighting the infection. So watch for a cough and no fever also.
