I received 3 great cookbooks just in time for summer.
Weber’s On the Grill Chicken and Sides:
This book has over 100 delicious recipes for chicken and all the great sides that go with it. I tried out an easy recipe, and side first.
Chicken Rub:
- 4 tsp granulated onion
- 4 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp. ground black pepper
****This was very good a little to spicy, but very good and simple to make. My family was very impressed by it.
Steak and Sides:
Over 66 steak recipes from kabobs to filet mignon.
This book has a lot of great recipes, I thought i’d share a wonderful side I made.
Glazed Sweet Potatoes:
- Grated zest of 2 limes
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 canola oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 sweet potatoes
Directions:
- Prepare grill for direct cooking over medium heat(350-450)
- In a small glass or stainless steel bowl, whisk the glaze ingredients. Peel the sweet potatoes, trim the ends, and cut each potato into 1/2 inch slices. Brush the potatoes on both sides with glaze.
- grill potatoes over medium heat, with lid closed, until easily pierced with knife, 15-20 minutes. brush them with glaze about every 5 minutes. remove and serve warm.
****these were very good and easy to make. The problem was that they burned very easily, and they fell through the grill plates.

I have never grilled sweet potatoes and we just love them!We use wood/charcoal- I am wondering if this can be adapted to a foil wrap type recipe? Or maybe partially grilling then finish inside?
