Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party

My kids have always wanted a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese, so yesterday they finally got to have one. We decided to have a double birthday party since both my daughters birthdays are only a month apart.

Chuck E Cheese offers to birthday packages…..

$15.99 and $20.99 per child, you get

  • 2 slices of pizza per child
  • drink with unlimited refills
  • 2 hours reserved table space
  • medallion for birthday child
  • Ticket blaster experience for birthday child
  • inflatable crown with tokens for birthday child
  • Jumbo foil balloon for birthday child
  • Birthday Sticker for birthday child
  • birthday show
  • 20 token per child
  • festive tableware
  • host/hostess
  • VIP sticker for adult
  • email invitations
  • 500 bonus tickets for birthday child ($20.99 only)
  • Bank with 12 token for birthday child ($20.99 only)
  • 16 additional tokens per child ($20.99)
  • balloon for each child ($20.99 only)
  • bobble head cup for each child ($20.99)

This was also our first time at a Chuck E Cheese in New York, and it was fun. There were 4 other parties going on at the same time and it got really crazy. I only had 8 kids and 7 adults, but other parties had like 40 or more people.  When we first walked in we noticed a weird smell, but just put it off. We were greeted kindly at the door and of course got stamped at kid check, we also met our hostess for the party. The first thing we did was the kids got their tokens and went to play games. an hour later we sat down to eat pizza and have cake, then partied with Chuck E and do the ticket blaster. I received a paper that had the itinerary on it, but it was not followed and was a little disorganized.

What I didn’t like: We opted for the $20.99 package, but did not receive the 500 tickets, party stickers, sticker for adult, and bank with tokens. I asked about the products and they said they were coming but never did. After asking 3 times I gave up, plus I felt like I had to chase my hostess around.  The game floor was nice but a lot of the games were out of tickets or ate my tokens. There was not enough time to open gifts at the party, we had to take them home and open them.

I was a little disappointed things weren’t going perfect, the kids were having a blast and couldn’t care less.

Overall there were some disappointments, but we still love Chuck E Cheese and will continue to go. we are going again in a month, just for the kids to play.   My main suggestion for birthday parties is to call ahead and see how many parties will be at the  same time as yours. I think there should only be 2 or 3 parties allowed at a time. It was really overcrowded. I would give Chuck E Cheese a definite 10, but the particular facility we went to would only get a 5.

****UPDATE: I just received a phone call from Chuck E Cheese Geust Relations and they are sending me everything I didn’t receive at the party Plus some. Now thats satisfaction!

Disclosure: No compensation was received, I received a certificate for a free party, but paid a lot out-of-pocket. All opinions are 100% my own.

Get Your Kids Involved In Earth Day

It’s Earth Day and you can get your kids involved in helping save the planet. Here are some ideas……

  1. Community Cleanup-Schedule a community cleanup day with the kids. You might focus on an
area such as school grounds, your neighborhood or a community garden area. Cleaning up the local area helps
the environment and creates a sense of community with the kids and other residents.
  2. Grow A Garden-Planting seeds or plants on Earth Day is a natural option for kids’ activities. The type of plant depends on the area. If space allows, plant a tree or large vegetable garden. Growing your own vegetables lets you eliminate the use of chemicals.
  3. Toy Swap/Donation-Throwing away old toys results in more waste in the landfill. Instead of tossing the toys that are boring, help the kids organize a toy swap. Each child brings her old toys that she no longer wants, and the kids swap toys with one another. That way, each child goes home with different toys, and nothing ends up in the landfill. You can also donate them to goodwill where they will find a good home.
  4. Make a Pledge-Earth Day offers an opportunity for kids to think about their own actions and how they impact the earth. Help the kids create an Earth Day pledge that states what they promise to do to keep the earth clean while protecting the environment. Have each child sign the pledge.
  5. Green Committee-A kids’ green committee puts the responsibility in the hands of the children. This idea works well in a school setting or other situation when a group of kids meets regularly. The green committee monitors the school to make sure the other kids are making green choices. They also find new ways to make the school green, such as adding recycling bins or planting
    flowers.

Carefree Can Keep You Fresh

As a mom of three, all 6 and under I am always on the go.  Between running kids to the bus stop cleaning, shopping, potty training and more, I rarely get to find time to freshen up, so I always carry body spray and some panty liners in my purse.

Carefree Liners are now 40% thinner and twice as absorbent, compared to the previous Carefree Liners. Carefree acti-fresh liners were designed with everyday wear in mind, plus the odor control system helps keep you fresh for eight hours a day.

I have only had a light period for years, thanks to my Mirena so I am always on the lookout for great liners.  I love these things they help you smell great and are so thin. With bulky pads and liners, I always feel like I am wearing diaper, with these I barely even notice. They also are available for a great price ranging around 2 dollars.  I really like the fact that they are so small , its easy to keep them discreet in your pocket or purse.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Carefree and received a product sample and gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
