In 2011, ShopRite donated 40,000 cans of food to local food banks, in conjunction with 40 years of can can savings from it’s annual can can sale. Now they are in their 41st sale year and are getting Fans involved through Facebook. Fans can get involved to fight against hunger, from now until January 21, 2012 (2012 can can sale) ShopRite will donate one can of food for each new Facebook fan.
