My mom has got to be the best mother in the world. I know everyone says that but my mom knows Kris and I have been trying to save up money for a true honeymoon since we never got one after the wedding and she’s been helping in every way possible. The other day she sent me a check in the mail – apparently she put some of her old handbags on Ebay and made some quick cash. She also emailed me a link forhttp://www.electriccompaniestexas.net/txu-energy-texas/ where she said she’d gone to research her utilities and ended up saving lots of money each month. I can’t believe mom’s offered to watch the dog and our daughter once we make enough to go on our vacation, either. We’d already factored in the $300 the kennel was going to cost so that’s a huge help in getting to our goal. I really want to make sure mom’s always taken care of since dad died – she lives in that big house all alone and I know she doesn’t have any extra money laying around, either. I try to be cognizant of the fact that she’s got medications to pay for and she eats cheap food just to make sure she’s got enough but I sure do hear the call of the waves down in Cancun. That’s where my husband and I want to go if we can ever save enough as we’ve heard such great stories about it from some of our friends. We even found an all-inclusive resort I think we can afford, but we’ll have to catch it on special. We’ll probably have to go n hurricane season because it’s cheaper and just risk a storm but you know, I guess being holed up in a fancy hotel with room service isn’t the worst way to spend a rainy vacation, anyway! The only hurdle once we save the cash is getting my husband the time off work but I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
