I love blogging, It is a way for me to express myself, and share things with family and friends. I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t have a lot of friends outside of the internet.
I tend to stay inside a lot and be with my kids. I don’t have money for a nanny, or babysitter. So I just do with what I have.
I started blogging about 3 1/2 years ago, and it started as just a blog about life with 3 small kids and a husband over seas. Then it turned into a business as companies were pitching me for advertising, products etc. I accepted, and it took up a lot of my time.
While I do not make even close to what other bloggers make a month, I still enjoy what I do. I do not have the support of my husband though. He thinks I spend way to much time on the computer and make close to $1 a hour.
I would love to prove him wrong, the problem being he is in school so the more money I make the less he makes. To be honest we don’t make much, enough to live.
I would love to be able to redesign my blog, learn how to do more monetizing and get more stats. That is on my to do list for the next year.
Hopefully then I will get support from others.
You do have some loyal readers….. and I do wish I could offer you some wise advice. Soon your hubby will be graduating and the money you make won’t affect his grants or whatever.
Not everyone has a lot of friends…….. myself I don’t get out a lot either- and like you it does get somewhat lonely.
Just don’t despair- perhaps for your blogging, find a mentor if you can- one of the larger bloggers who might be willing to give you pointers. I am not saying join up with the mega bloggers but perhaps one who is well respected. It depends a lot on what you want to do with it though.
I just want to give you a BIG (((HUG)))!!! I am in the same boat as you in the friend dept. I’ve always been terribly shy, so I don’t make friends easily. On the net, I can talk and visit and its just different.
We are really struggling in this economy, so I feel you there. Half the time we are robbing peter to pay Paul. Me getting a job is out of the question, my husband is disabled, so he cannot do for our boys and most of the time I have to help him do things too. So we live on his ss, which is way more than most have but its still hard. He worked hard for many years, so we get a nice amount, but still with car pmt, house pmt and the cost of food and utilities its crazy. Entering giveaways and sweepstakes has really helped us out a lot. He gets frustrated with the amount of time I spend entering…until I remind him how much I’ve won in the last year and how much it helped us out! (We are half way through the 4 boxes of Cheerios I won from you, its been nice not having to buy them for a while, Love Cheerios) My boys’ school clothes were bought using gift cards I had won and many things I am saving to give as christmas gifts.
I will keep my fingers crossed for everything for you. Hopefully once your dh gets through school you can go for broke on your blog! Either way, I enjoy coming here to visit. I don’t always make it here everyday, sometimes I just read through your email, but I try to come when I can. The big blogs are nice, but to tell you the truth, I like the smaller blogs even more.
