Getting kids to sleep on time

I have to admit I am so bad about getting my kids into a routine. I had them in one for a while, but then daylight savings screwed it all up.  Now with Hectic schedules I find myself forgetting certain routines.

Some of my tips for getting my kids to bed is:

Always schedule a time- My kids are in bed at 8, may not fall asleep then but they have to lay in bed.

patience-Yes small kids will get up from time to time, just put them back in bed and walk away.

Reading  a good story-reading a story is a great way to bond and let your child know there is nothing to be scared of.

if all else fails-Drive, my kids always fall asleep in the car, and if I can’t get them to go to sleep or if they are overly cranky. I go for a drive.

Leave a light on- a little less scared and will make them more comfortable

So the way it usually works is Dinner, bath, brush teeth, cuddles(reading), bedtime.

  1. Great tips and I always found that keepng a tight schedule always helped my children to get to bed on time easier.

  2. My kids are always really good about going to bed. The key is getting them to bed early. If you let them stay up until they are pooped, they’ll be too cranky to go quietly to bed.
