Hacking Into The System like Chuck

In this season of chuck there was an episode called “Chuck VS. The Hack Off”, the episode was featured around computer skills.   Chuck aka The Piranha must bypass the security systems allowing the team to infiltrate and grab the computer super virus, the Omen virus.

I am not very skilled with computers, but there have been a few times where I had to figure out how to get something done on my own. I can remember that my computer had a virus and my husband was out-of-town, so it was all up to me to fix it. The computer kept pulling up different codes and I tried several combinations until i got through.

To say the least, I cracked a few codes and restarted the whole system to get it up and running, I was so proud of myself.

It’s Time To Get Out And BBQ #HormelFamily

Finally the weather is beautiful and it’s time to get out and about. I live in Long Island NY, and it has been raining for almost two weeks straight. Luckily the last couple days, the sun has come out and it has been really warm.

It’s the perfect time to get out and have a cook out/BBQ and have fun. This year Mothers Day was our first official cook out at the park.  It’s my favorite thing to do. The beaches here have eating and playing areas walking distance from the beach. So we can eat, play and then walk on the beach.

My husband did all the cooking for this trip, we decided to cook Hot dogs, steak and corn.

The food came out so good. The only thing  hate about cooking at a park is it’s not your own grill, you don’t know what has been on it or in it. The food did come out okay though.  We all had a blast.

Another form of BBQ we love is actual southern BBQ. I had never had it until we moved to the south, but it has become one of my favorites.

So for family night I decided to make Chicken BBQ and  try out Hormel’s BBQ beef. My chicken came out a little plain, It just lists it’s flavor in the crock pot. Luckily we had Hormel’s BBQ beef on hand to eat and everyone loved it.

May is National BBQ month, what will you be barbecuing?  I wanted to make a original recipe, but I am not the best at original. My husband does most of the grilling.

Visit Virginia Beach

We have only been to Virginia Beach a few times, usually when we were traveling up north. We would stop at Virginia Beach and enjoy it for the day. It was so beautiful though, and so much to do.

 

Our kids I think enjoyed it the most. They had gigantic sand castles on the beach that people were building, and the kids loved seeing how they were being made. We ran into a family from NY that were visiting, and they were praising the hotel they stayed in. The kids were given ID bracelets, in case they got lost. They said it was the best vacation so far.

Also just for kids there is the Aquarium and marine science center, which is all day fun.  Seeing all the marine life, and walking through the giant aquarium tunnel. It was beautiful and you get to learn so much about the animals.  For a price you can even get in the water and interact with seals.

Virginia Beach has so much more to offer than just a beach though. There are so many activities to do as a family or just as a couple.

  • Busch Gardens Williamsburg
  • Fishing
  • Commodore Theatre
  • kayak tours

The list goes on and on, as what there is to do at Virginia Beach.  Just visit the Visitors center and you can get pamphlets and directions to everything.  For me, the beach was so much fun, but there are so many people around it’s hard to find a quiet spot.

If you get to the beach early which I have done, you can usually find tons of exciting stuff.  You can find sand dollars , or sea stars that washed up. I’ve also found money and toys that probably fell out of pockets or got left behind.

We were only at Virginia Beach for one day, but I have heard from so many people that the one thing you don’t want to miss out on is the food tours and restaurants. They have the best seafood around.

I think Virginia Beach is a great spot fora  vacation and I hope to go back very soon.  How will you “Love The Moment In Virginia Beach?”

Chuck Season 5 Finale

In the Series Finale of Chuck Season 5, Sarah and Chuck find themselves sitting on a beach side by side. The married couple reminisces and share one final kiss as the scene fades. It was so exciting. I think Sarah is starting to get her memory back, just as everyone is getting their lives together. I think that Chuck and Sarah if the show was to continue would be just fine. they will either be doing more spy work together or just move on with their lives.

Build A Bear Birthday Party

Both of my daughters have their birthdays a month apart, so we usually do a double birthday party, in between their birthdays.

This year we settled on Build A Bear Workshop, my kids absolutely love it there.

A Build A Bear party is easy to schedule online, by phone or in store.   You just add how many kids you would like and set a budget. You can have a party for $10 a child.

We wanted to have 10 kids total, unfortunately we had a lot of cancellations, so we ended up with 7 people. Which was still good, you need at least 6 people for a party.

Our host (Cathy) met with us, and began by introducing herself and making name tags for everyone in the party.

 Next was the parade around the store to the animals to pick one out.

Everyone was able to pick out the animal they wanted.

Everyone sat back in a circle and had to name their bears, our host put the names on tags. It’s easier to make the birth certificates that way, then having a full party take turns on the computers. At this time they also have the guests put their names on a special gift for the birthday child.

Then it was time to pick out your hearts for your animals, and of course do a little exercise with the hearts.

I really have to give our hostess Cathy a big Thank you, our party was a little crazy with the hearts, and she was very nice about cleaning it up.

Next, was a game of hot potato with a mini animal, to see who was going to get to stuff their animal.

then of course the stuffing animals, then you get to wash and pamper your animal.

Then you get to choose outfits, that was the most hard part for the kids I think. They would choose an outfit and then change their mind. The good thing was that they were allowed to change them if they wanted.

Can you tell how excited he is? Cars clothes! LOL

Don’t forget that you can also add sound, shoes and accessories to any bear or party package if you would like.

To round out the end of the party, our host took a picture of everyone and their furry friend, sand happy Birthday and presented the Birthday girls with their special gifts.

Over all the party went really great, and our host was awesome even through a few melt downs.  I have no complaints about the party it was great, my only complaint would be that the store we had the party had a lot of animals and clothes that were out of stock. My daughter really wanted Miss Piggy but it was not available.  My daughter even wants to have her next birthday t Build A Bear Workshop again.

Build A Bear work shop only has a few locations with actual party rooms so there is no eating enjoying cupcakes in the store, and your party host will bundle your gifts in a bag and put them aside for you to open at home.

Freshen Up around the House this Spring

After a long winter, It’s time to clean up and freshen up around the house. It’s a new year and time for a new look. Here are some of my tips to help freshen up your life.

1.Clean out those closets- getting into a new routine can mean out with the old and in with the new. Clean out your closets of old clothes that don’t fit anymore, and unneeded or broken items. Making room for a new spring wardrobe.

2.Pictures- It’s spring time and it’s been getting warm all over, even here in NY. So get out of the house with family and take pictures of your kids playing soccer, or going to a amusement park. It’s also a good time to get in those pictures of butterflies, and beautiful sunsets.
Then to add some color to your house, print the photos in the size you want. Hang the around the house.

3. Spring Cleaning- Giving your house a good scrubbing can help you freshen up your life. Steam clean the carpets, so they look new don’t forget the upholstery with it. Cleaning out all the dust and even adding a new coat of paint, or changing the color of your walls.
