Trying Something New This Year

I have struggled with my weight since my son was born 4 years ago. I was never big on sweets until I got pregnant and now three kids later, it’s been hard to kick the habit.

I do still have a lot of baby weight on me. I did have 3 kids in under three years. So now having a 4,5, and 6-year-old, stress plays a big factor in my weight gain.

This year though, I am going to try to boost my metabolism. I could remember before I got pregnant, I weighed 110 and could eat anything and never gain a pound.

So now under doctors suggestions, drink tons of water, and eat every 3 hours. Portion control of course, and no eating 3 hours before bed. I am going to try this for 2 weeks and see where it gets me. I would be happy even if I lost 5 lbs. right now. It’s a start!

Of course I will be doing lots of exercise, but having a bad back I think I am going to stick to the WII and dance games. They are fun and not strenuous.

So I will update in a few weeks with my progress. So stay tuned.

New Year, New Challenges

Am I going to call them New Year Resolutions? No! Mainly because they always get broken. Instead, I’m going to just put myself to the challenge of new things, for this new year. Last year I tried a lot of these and failed.
New year though and I am determined.

1. Quitting soda, I am a sucker for soda and it’s been very hard to break. I am determined to break this habit.

2 Weight loss- This is something I have struggled with for a couple years now. This year I want to reach my goal and keep it off.
my goal of 35 lbs. Hopefully by Blogher 2012

3. Expand my Blog and biz, while I don’t think I’ll be one of these bloggers getting 50,000 visitors a month, having at least maybe 20 K would be nice.

I would love to be able to go to more events this year and make a lot of money on my blog. I don’t see it happening, my husband is still in college, working on his PHD and that is my #1 priority. Making sure he succeeds, and I have to stay with the kids all the time. Which is okay by me, because it seems like whenever I am away, I miss a shining moment in their life.

So here is to 2012, I don’t want to change my life. Just make it better for my kids.

Christmas Doesn’t look good

I’ve been so excited about Christmas this year, I just love being able to spend the day as a family. Lately though Christmas has been looking more and more like a blur.

My kids have been misbehaving more now than they ever have, it’s getting really ridiculous. I threaten to take away presents and toys etc. nothing works.  Saying Santa is watching you does not work, because my kids don’t believe in Santa. Yes, they are only 4,5, and 6 but I wanted to be honest with them, and tell them.

So here we are 10 days to Christmas and I have nothing wrapped, no stocking stuffer and spoiled misbehaving kids.  I have no idea what exactly i am going to be doing for Christmas, but I am sure I will definitely be cutting down their presents.

How could they do anything wrong right?

Putting review items away after reviews and shopping on Black Friday, I have wound up with 25 items each for all 3 of my kids. It’s crazy that I have accumulated that much stuff and I don’t know how. Most of the items I have put away for Christmas are clothes and books, kids love toys but we just have too much.

Ahhh, I am starting to hate the holiday season, it’s getting way to crazy.

My Baby is Growing Up

In Just 5 days my Son will be 4, I hate to see him grow up. He finally wanted to learn his ABC’s, Yes he is that stubborn. I have been trying for over a year and now he wanted to learn.

So we went to our local Library and checked out a book on ABC’s called Nascar Abc’s. He loves Cars, so I thought that would be perfect.

Well in one day this is how much he learned

He misses a couple letters, but he is learning. I am a proud Mommy!

Huntington Holiday Parade

Last night we attended a holiday parade in our town. This is the first time we attended a parade here, and didn’t know what to expect. It was really good, majority of the parade was Fire Trucks lit up and decorated.

The first real Hess Truck i’ve ever seen!

This was a firetruck, I was going crazy over if you follow me on Facebook.  They were blasting I’m Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO and dancing!

Black Friday madness

Well I am one of the millions of people who went out on Thanksgiving night, waited in long lines and braved 30 degree weather for deals. The big difference between me and a lot of other people is…. I didn’t care for electronics, or any of the big items.

First I did a Fyrflyz demonstration at Toys R Us, although no one seemed interested. It was fun though, I did not shop at Toys R Us though.

Then I hit Walmart and I am lucky I showed up a little early, It was packed. I was in and out in an hour. Let me tell you though Walmart needs some organization skills. the only deals that were blocked off were the electronics. Before 10 I had all the clothes that were on sale and toys.

The one thing I was really upset about was they said line up here to  get a appliance, and I did. I was 6th in line and should have got what I wanted, but then the employee changed his mind and said line up behind what you want. The crowds rushed, pushed and shoved, and I got nothing.  Another really annoying thing, I was looking for the Disney Storybooks, and the character T-shirts for $2.97. Well after 10 employees saying I have no idea, I finally found the storybooks. I never found the shirts though I asked at least 5 more people and got the same answer. So I missed out on that deal.

This is my Walmart Buys

The checkout line was one big line that was way to long.

Next I hit Target:

The line to get in the store was around the whole building. And I was around 2/3 of the building. Once they opened though, I got in quick. I only wanted a few things, so I was in and out really quick.  No pushing, or fighting there.

This is my buys from target

I was done with these two stores by 12:30 am

I came home slept, then I was up an back out at 4:20

I hit Kmart, to my surprise there was only 30 people that showed up. I could of snagged a big screen Tv if I wanted.

My buys from Kmart:

The main thing I bought was Clothes, which is all I really wanted.

I saved over $100, which is good for me.

I Need Your Help, Vote For Me Please

I feel kind of silly asking for votes, because seriously I have never won a voting contest. This I really want to win, It’s a video contest and you can vote once a day. The winner gets a $1000 dollar Expedia gift card.

I would so love to be able to fly my mom or dad out to see my children and I . I haven’t seen my dad since 2005 and he has never met 2 of my children. I haven’t seen my mom since 2009.

All you have to do is go to this Facebook page and vote for my video, it’s under Brandy Walleshauser.  You can vote once a day.

You Can add 4 extra entries to any current contest I have running. $ extra entries per day sounds pretty good.

So Please Please Please Please!

Trick Or Treating with the Little Ones

Halloween is coming up and having 3 young children I know how stressful it can be to take them out trick or treating.

here are some tips shared with me to have a good time:

  1. Wear comfortable shoes: The Disney heels are nice but keep in mind your child will be walking around a lot.
  2. Easy on the candy: No candy should be eaten until you get home, or the next day if it’s late. Your child doesn’t need to be on a sugar high.
  3. Skip scary houses: Scary houses, door bells that make noise, people waiting to scare you, is going to make your child upset and maybe give them nightmares.
  4. Wear bright colors: It’s going to be dark and if you dress your child in black , there is a big chance of them getting in an accident. Also wear reflectors.
  5. Go through Candy: It’s hard to think about but people will give kids poison and other things. Go through the candy and get rid of anything that is open or unsafe.   It is also good for kids to not eat sticky candy, it gets stuck in the teeth. Chocolate is better.
  6. Adult supervision: Kids under the age of 13 should not go out alone. It’s unsafe.

Long Island Festival

So the Long Island festival is happening now, tomorrow is the last day. Yesterday around 6:00, we head out to go an it is only a 15-20 minute walk. So we decided to walk since their is absolutely no parking anywhere. We get there and the kids are all excited about the rides etc.

5 minutes after we get there we feel sprinkles, and start thinking about going home.  Then I see the prices for rides and I jet away.

Prices are $1.25 per ticket and each ride takes 3-5 tickets. So for my 3 kids and adult (required) to ride the ferris wheel one time would be $25. You could also buy a pop ticket for $23, but their is not very many rides so it’s not worth it. Each game is $5. So yes it cost a lot of money.

We start the journey home and half way home it starts pouring rain. Imagine walking on a busy street with 3 kids under age 7, while it is pouring rain.

we get home and we are all soaked to the bone.

So Long Island Festival is not worth the time (at least to me).
