OH NO, THE BIG 3-0
He has been teasing me none stop, which is okay because he is older the me. 🙂
I can’t believe I am 30!
I received everything I could of wanted for my birthday, getting to spend the day with my family having fun.
I loved every minute of it.

September 15 to October 15 is Spanish Heritage month. We are not hispanic but I have a lot of family members that are, and love the culture. I grew up in Phoenix AZ and eating Mexican food was common to us.
To celebrate we decided to have a fun taco night, with a few specialties. It wasn’t truly authentic, but my kids are so picky so I had to give and take a few things.
We celebrated with homemade tacos and burritos as well as ChChi’s chips and Wholly Guacamole for a dip. This was the first time my kids have ever tried Guacamole, but the seemed to like it as they ate a bunch.
We also had a bowl of Hertz salsa for my youngest, who preferred salsa over guacamole. We love Hertz because the salsa is a lot less chunky. My son prefers just to get a small amount on his chip and not have big chunks of vegetables.

DR. Seuss is coming to Long Island through his drawings of course. LaMantia Galleries here in the heart of the North Shore will be celebrating 75 years of Dr. Seuss’s 2nd book The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.
Dr. Seuss’s never-before-seen hat collection will be exhibited from November 8 – 30, 2014 at the gallery. An opening day reception with the curator of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, November 8 from 12-6 pm.
This exhibition will also feature Dr. Seuss’s little-known Secret Art Collection, a series of Estate authorized works adapted from Ted Geisel’s original drawings, paintings, and sculpture, which will also be available for acquisition. Hats Off to Dr. Seuss! is a rare and exciting exhibition as this is the first time any of these hats have traveled outside the Seuss Estate.

Strawberry Shortcake is back in a all new movie with all her best friends including Cheery Jam.
It’s friends first for Strawberry Shortcake and her favorite gal pals in Berry Best Friends! We went on vacation last month, our first in 7 years. When we were in the middle of enjoying the Buffalo Zoo, my camera battery died and then the lens wouldn’t close. After I changed the battery, the lens closed and wouldn’t open again. Just makes a clicking noise. I have tried troubleshooting everything. The only way I have been able to get it to work is by using a piece of tape to open the lens.
It’s becoming a pain to do that constantly though, so my only camera I have now is my iPad. Since I don’t want to drag that everywhere with me, I am missing out on so many good pictures and memories.
That is the big reason my personal posts have been short as of late. I am saving up and my next goal is to buy a camera. Doesn’t have to be big and fancy, although I would love a DSLR. Anything will do right now, although I have been through 3 cameras so maybe zooming lenses are not for me.
I am really missing these special photos.
Any suggestions on a good camera? What brand do you have?
