Summer Reading With Scholastic Books

School is out and summer is here, which mean kids are not thinking about learning but having fun.  It’s important to keep kids involved with learning and staying on top by reading everyday.

We love to read and are alway on the lookout for new books. Now that my daughter is 7 she is starting to read series and chapter books.

We were sent 2 different series of books from scholastic and my kids just loved them.

We received two books from the fly Guy Series:

Ride Fly Guy Ride and Fly Guy vs. The Fly Swatter (ages4-7)

We love the Fly guy series because it’s easy to read and the Fly Guy just goes on crazy adventures. It is a chapter book, but most books only have 5 chapters and about 30 pages. It’s a very smile book even my 6-year-old is reading them with no problems.

We also received the Scholastic discover more series:

Discover more: Ocean and Sea (ages 8+)

Discover More: Planets (5-7)

My kids have been really interested in our planet and everything on it. The Ocean and Sea book is very informative talking about the oceans and what inside them, how they form, life in the ocean, Tsunamis, threats and more.  My kids really loved the pictures most of all, they are close up of animals and oceans, not leaving out any detail.

The planets book lists all the planets and what they are made of, or have. It also talks about all of our discoveries through space like the first man on the moon and the Mars rover. The book even cover timeline of events so it’s not to confusing when the planets were discovered or when an event happened. It even mentions galaxies, stars and even aliens, in case there is life on other planets.

both of the Discover More books, have a free digital book.

My kids have already read through all these books but insist that they will ke reading them over and over, and even continue our collection.

You can order these books on scholastic or pick them up at any bookstore.

Don’t forget to log your minutes in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge.
