Common Core math Testing

We are on Spring break right now, but as soon as we go back to school on Monday my 3rd grader will begin preparing for the Math testing required for 3rd graders. I know a lot of people have been opting out, but I decided to leave it up to her. She wanted to do the testing.

The language arts test went okay, and they were rewarded by the teachers after with ice pops.
My biggest concern is going to be the math testing, because most of the homework can be confusing for even me.
My 3rd grader has even said that her teacher told her she didn’t learn it until 5th grade.

I think they need to stop making testing required for those that didn’t learn it beforehand. For example. They started common core this year, so everything they have learned up until nowise changing.
Why not start it in Kindergarten and then go from there.
When I was in High school (12 years ago) they started requiring high school students to pass certain tests to graduate. That bombed as so many kids failed and skipped school. So they put it off a couple years. Thank goodness, or I wouldn’t of graduated.

Anyways

I am very nervous about this Math testing, so I have been preparing her at home with some reviews the teacher has given and some great apps. I have found.

Are you getting your child prepared for the state testing?
