Medicare Supplemental Insurance

I am very close with my grandmother and we were talking about Medicare and the benefits and the downsides to it. I never realized that it did not pay for most of the costs. So we got on the topic of supplemental insurance or senior governmental benefits, and how it would help.  My grandmother says it does help, but when you get older and your health declines and you have so many medications to buy it gets hard.

It’s been hard to help her figure it out since she lives in California and I live in New York, but even here I have heard people talk about supplemental insurance, since prices are so high out here.

Scholastic has launched a online tracker for logging your reading minutes.  Kids everywhere will Read for the World Record by logging the minutes they spend reading this summer and attempting to beat the current world record of 64,213,141 minutes set during summer 2011. The 20 schools whose students log the most minutes will be recognized in the 2013 Scholastic Book of World Records. The Scholastic Summer Challenge kicks-off today atwww.scholastic.com/summer and runs through August 31, 2012.

London has so much going this year including the Queens Jubilee and the London Olympics.

I have never been to london, but have family that live in Scotland who travel to London all the time and share their pics. My grandmother visited for a few weeks and said that because she stayed so long she decided to stay in London Apartments.

We have been collecting Hess trucks for some time, we have missed out on a few years but have a lot of them.  My son automatically feel in love with this one as it is a truck and a plane to play with.  It lights up and is good for hours of fun and play.   I really appreciate how they offer the minis, we have so many big Hess trucks and they take up a lot of room.

Address Plaques

One thing I love looking at when I go to swap meets or indoor shops is the Personalized Address Plaques. They are so neat and cute when you customize them.

Growing up we always just had stickers on our door and mail box, but the problem was they would tear off or just lose their look. So people were always lost when they were trying to find our house. The neighborhoods address numbers were out-of-order too.

So we went out and bought a Residential address Plaque, it was one of those Bronze Address Plaques, so I knew it would be sturdy.  It lasted us about all 14 years that we lived in the house.

It made our house look so much more nicer too, and we never had any problems with mail or pizza delivery.
