Easter Idea: Creativity Matters with Crayola GiveawayClosed

I love when my kids draw or build things,  it shows their creativity and imagination.

Creativity is something every child can learn and express on their own, it helps them get ready for the future and beyond. Creativity is not about who´s the best artists or becoming an architect. It´s a way of thinking that encourages kids´ original ideas and develops their confidence.

We received a Crayola prize pack to get our creative minds rolling.

  • My first Crayola Washable crayons, markers and stampers- .
  • Crayola Mess Free Color Wonder Tiny Tube-
  • Crayola Crystal Effect Window Markers
  • Crayola Washable Kaleidoscope  Chalk
  • Crayola Dry Erase Crayons
  • Crayola Dual Sided Dry Erase Board

We absolutely loved all of these Crayola products, my favorite was the My First Crayola because they are perfect for my sons little hands. So much easier for him to draw his pictures.  My daughters loved the 3D chalk, they drew on the side walk and then it came to life. The red stood out more than any other color.  The window markers are fun to use and easy to clean off, but we didn’t go to crazy with it just in case.  The dry erase markers and board, really come in use in my house. My daughters use them for homework problems, but the only downside is that when you erase there is still a residue. It does not come off very well.

Crayola held a “Inside The Crayola Box” event with Lisa Loeb, where she shared her insights and her kids creativity.

I have a Crayola Prize pack to giveaway to one reader. One US reader will win all the same items i received.

Guest Post: Crossing Items Off The List

Thanks to Erasmo Cortez

We have decided to open our own small business. My mom, my sister, and I are all going into business together. We have been operating out of our homes and just advertising on facebook for a few years now, but not we are going nationwide, baby! We’ve secured our small business loanand everything. This is when the fun really starts. This has been a dream we’ve shared for so many years now, and now that dream is becoming a reality right before our very eyes. We’ve written a list of all the things to be done, and divided the list between the three of us. I have been steadily crossing things off my list of responsibilities. Next up is to secure a t1 internet plan for our business. I am looking into the options today and speaking am speaking with different companies to try and get us the best deal. I’m thinking this will take the most part of the day, so it may be the only thing I get off the list today.

Eating Healthier With Hormel Foods #HormelFamily

March is national nutrition month, with this years theme being “Get Your Plate In Shape.” The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics started this campaign to emphasize making good food choices and physical activity. You can find out more about this campaign and resources to help with healthier eating on their website.

I am the primary cooker in my house and make all the grocery decisions. I do try to incorporate a salad, vegetable or fruit with every meal. There are times I let myself give into temptation, making hamburgers and french fries or giving into sugary snacks during the day. It can be stressful taking care of three kids all under the age of 7, so I always have comfort foods on hand.

This month in honor of Natonal Nutrition month, I wanted to try something different. I have not boughten any sugary candies, and limited our in tae of red meats and other sugary treats. I introduced my children to Wholly Guacamole, for a snack, while they did not seen to like it at first. I tried adding just a little sour cream and cheese and the loved it. Since the love pepperoni so much, I had the try the Hormel Turkey pepperoni instead of the regular and they loved it. They almost ate the whole package.

Packing a good school lunch is alway important, and I usually always pack a drink (no fructose corn syrup), a fruit, and a sandwich. my kids are very picky and won’t eat wheat bread, so i have to buy whole grain white bread and without milk. The sandwiches are topped with Hormel Natural choices Turkey and Ham, cheese and lettuce (what my daughter calls salad). Hormel Natural choices deli meats are 100% natural meats with no preservatives.

I really hope to continue this path i’m on to eating right. What is your favorite eat right tip? Is there anything you have given up to eat healthy? Mine would be soda! I have been soda free for 3 months!!

Disclosure: I’ve partnered with Hormel Foods as part of the Hormel Foods Extended Family Blogger Program. Throughout the year I’ll be receiving product, coupons, giveaways and promotions. However, no payment was given or expected for posting about the program, and as always, all opinions given here are fully my own.

A Way To Show You Care

A Guest Post By Katie Baldesweiler

It’s always hard to shop for people. Those celebration days come around every year. Whether it’s Christmas, a birthday, a wedding or a baby shower, you find yourself pondering, “What should I get Linda?” or “What gift would Bob like?” I know I spend hours in the stores, walking through aisle after aisle, fingering through the unoriginal products and items. Every shopping trip, I leave empty-handed because I just can’t get behind a purchase. I don’t feel like it’s worth it. So after wasting gas and my time, I am just frustrated and without a gift.

I always thought that do-it-yourself gifting was so thoughtful and meaningful. The Internet offers a great way to browse through cute DIY blogs and websites with information and tutorials on how to make your own presents. But with a 9 to 5 job, it’s hard to find time to put something together like that.

We all know that the way to someones heart is through their stomach. Cliché, but true. I find great joy in baking and cooking for others. I think that says a lot about me as a person, too. It’s easy to see the common trend here; I like to give things to people that are from the heart.

I always found gift baskets to be a such a great concept. I remember the carnival my elementary school had and they raffled off these fabulous gift baskets that every homeroom classroom made. My dad stuffed the cans of a few of the baskets and what do you know, we went home with TWO! We won an “Italian-themed” gift basket full of pasta and spices. And a “bakers-themed” gift basket full of all the supplies you need to start your own bakery.

Feeling sentimental, I scoured the Internet for a place that could help me out with a gift basket and I found http://www.gourmetgiftbaskets.com. With countless themes including “cupcake”, “gardening”, and “spa and pamper” how could you go wrong? I’ve got this site bookmarked for the next time I am stumped and have no clue what to get for my Aunt June.
