Mega Bloks Domino Build Game Review

Product Description:  Mega Bloks Domino Build Game utilizes simple domino and building game play to introduce multiple skill sets such as colors, numbers, matching, motor skills, etc. Players collect animal blocks after correctly matching domino tiles. Be the first player to collect all 4 animal part blocks and assemble your animal to win.

**** This game was fun for my little ones, but it seemed a little to easy. My 5 yr old zipped through it and won every game.   The object is to line up the animal cards, kind of like dominoes. Everytime you get one right you get a piece of your Mega Blok animal. First one to build the animal wins, but there are only 4 pieces.  My kids still had fun playing even though every game ended with one of my kids being upset they didn’t win.

Pretty Little Liars Set the Mood with Music

When you watch a movie the music always sets the mood. When a couple are kissing they play romantic music. Someone is upset sad music etc.

I have my own personal soundtrack, no I’m not singing. I have songs picked out that I love listening to at certain times, upbeat dance tunes when I’m working out.  slow country music when I’m sad, and usually rock when I’m happy or cleaning.  I like the song Jack and Jill by Katie Herzig, I’m not sure what it is. When the lyrics and the tone of the song come on, I could actually picture my life on a show and that song playing.

Here is a video of Fay Wolf describing her song Your love( most popular song), which is available only on the soundtrack.

Behavior And Chore Charts At Goalforit.com

www.goalforit.com is a website where you create your own Goal chart. That’s not all though you can make a behavior chart, chore chart, or even a to do list.

They have lots of different themes and categories for the charts, it makes it so much fun for the kids.

I decided to make a chore/behavior chart for my kids to follow. Which I hope they can stick to, because they haven’t behaved lately.

Here is a preview of mine.

***I couldn’t capture the whole chart, but I really like their graphics for the charts. They have tons of headers to choose from for your child favorite. I chose rocker girl, purple butterflies, and a fire truck. Then you have the chore or behavior you would like to add. When a chore is completed you just click on the circle to give a check mark, and tons of different stickers pop up for your child to choose from.   Then at the end of the day or week you can write down what prize or amount of money they’ve earned.

I have been using the chart for a few days now and my kids have been a little better about following it. They do all the chores on the list no problem, it’s the behavior part they have trouble with. They are all under the age of 6 though, so that’s to be expected. I think this is a lot of fun and its a good way to teach your kids that when they do listen and show them that when they do, a reward will follow.

This is 100% free, so go check it out www.goalforit.com

Get Your Taxes Done With HR Block GiveawayClosed

It’s tax season, and it can be a very stressful time.  H&R Block has provided some tax time tips to help you take the guesswork out of tax time.

  1. Education benefits extended — The American Opportunity Credit was extended, allowing taxpayers to claim $2,500 for the first four years of college education for each student. The tuition and fees deduction also was extended and could provide a reduction in taxable income of up to $4,000.
  2. Sandwich generation gets tax relief — Taxpayers supporting their parents and their own children may be able to claim the $3,650 qualifying relative exemption.  Generally, the taxpayer must provide more than 50 percent of the financial support for eligible expenses such as food, lodging, clothing, education, medical and dental care, recreation and transportation.
  3. Unemployed are required to file — All unemployment benefits will be taxed this year, unlike last year when the first $2,400 was tax-free.
  4. 2008 homebuyer credit repayment starts, but not for 2009 and 2010 — The 2008 First-time Homebuyer Credit was similar to an interest-free loan and taxpayers must begin repaying it with their 2010 tax returns. In general, taxpayers must repay $500 a year for 15 years. If the taxpayer no longer lives in the house, then the credit must be repaid in full with the next tax return.  Taxpayers who claimed the credit in 2009 and 2010 will not have to repay it unless the house is sold or no longer their principal residence within three years of purchase.
  5. Energy credit reduced — For 2011, the lifetime maximum for the energy property credit is reduced from $1,500 to $500. Taxpayers who never claimed the credit can claim the entire $500. But, those who claimed $500 or more for the 2009-2010 and/or the 2006-2007 energy credits are not eligible in 2011. Eligible improvements include external windows and doors, insulation, roofing, HVAC and non-solar water heaters meeting specific energy guidelines.
  6. Adoption Credit fully refundable in 2010 and 2011 — The Adoption Credit can be claimed for qualified expenses up to $13,170 for 2010 and $13,360 for 2011. Plus, new for 2010 and 2011, the IRS will refund any amount of the credit that exceeds the adoptive parents’ tax liability.
  7. 2011 federal filing deadline is April 18 — Due to the observation of Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia on April 15, the filing deadline for federal tax returns is April 18 this year. But, some state filing deadlines will remain April 15.

To help you with tax time, H&R Block is offering 6 of my readers an online coupon code for Online preparation H&R Block at Home Premium.
