BabiesBase Has All The Information You Need

When I first became a mother I was always on the web searching for answers.  I was no where near family and my husband was overseas.   I needed all the help I could get and understanding of what was happening with my baby and me.

Now, there are tons of websites that have information on every topic you need, and even include forums so you can answer your own questions. One of my favorites is BabiesBase, they have everything you need to know from pregnancy to young children.  Fertility issues, picky eaters, temper tantrums and so much more.

I just spent the last 45 minutes looking up different topics, and found all the answers i needed.

Valentines Day Dinner #HormelFamily

Growing up I never really celebrated Valentines day, it was always a bad time in my family.  Now that I am older, I celebrate it but don’t really make that big of a deal about it. Usually we just have a nice family dinner, or go out to eat as a family.   This  year unfortunately my husband had some business dinners to attend. (Yeah, I know on Valentines day of all days). So it was just me and the kids for Valentines day dinner.

So, since I don’t have a nice romantic dinner to share, I will share my idea of a typical Valentines Day for me.

The table would be set nice.

Witha  table cloth and the plates and silver ware set orderly. No candles though

Valentines Day dinner would consist of something new and different like teryaki chicken or some kind of stir fry wrap as a appetizer using Sesame Oil.

then the main course would consist of Like steak and sausage, with mashed potatoes and vegetables and rice.

What did your Valentines Day sinner consist of?

Disclosure:  I’ve partnered with Hormel Foods as part of the Hormel Foods Extended Family Blogger Program. Throughout the year I’ll be receiving product, coupons, giveaways and promotions. However, no payment was given or expected for posting about the program, and as always, all opinions given here are fully my own.

Graduation Season Will Be Here Before We Know It

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post.

Graduation season is coming up fast and whether the student has finished middle school, high school, college or graduate school a celebration is necessary. Knowing that the party is coming up, decorations are the next thing to plan out. Banners are a great way to show how proud the host is of the student and the effort they put into their studies. No guest will be able to doubt the great feat that has just occurred.

Many years of work, persistence, and dedication lead up to this moment for students. A graduation banner adds an exclamation to the festivities. Students always enjoy the added attention, congratulations, and best wishes on their journey to the next education level.

A banner can be hung throughout your home, inside or outside, and can act as a directional tool just in case guests are trying to find your home. Signazon.com provides custom designed graduation banners for that special day. Be sure to plan ahead! All of the other students will have similar plans, you want your graduation party to be first on everyone’s list!

#Nemo pictures

This storm has been eventful, I got stuck in the snow driving 3 times. The last time my kids and I just abandoned the car and walked home.

Nemo! LOL!

The snow is so heavy it pulled my bushes down

I tried to see how deep it was to me, this is as far as I got and my feet were still not touching the ground.

Gearing Up for #Nemo

First off I have to say my children think it is hilarious that this storm is named after their beloved fish character.

It has been a little crazy here already in Huntington, the gas lines started last night, and a few stations either ran out or closed down early to save gas. They had lights out at 8pm. Today same thing long gas lines, there are even lines at atm’s and grocery stores are just a nightmare. Bottled juice on sale bread, juice and water completely cleared off the shelves.

How am I preparing, well I am not really. That sounds bad I know. I am just tired of preparing for storms honestly. We have flashlights, batteries, blankets etc.

I am not going to go crazy on the food, because during Sandy I stocked up and then everything perishable went bad, as we didn’t have power for weeks, and ice was hard to find.
We went into debt preparing for Hurricane Sandy, and while we again don’t have much money, I do not want to go into debt again for this storm. So I am taking my chances with what I have. A almost full tank of gas, $15 cash, full propane tank for grill, the food we have and family.

So I am the fool, if we loose power longer than a day or two.

The only thing that matters to e right now is getting everyone home safe from school and work today. I’ll deal with the rest later.

What are you doing to prepare?

Scholastic’s Animal Genius For Leapster Explorer and LeapPad

My kids love their LeapFrog products, we have two Leapster Explorers and a LeapPad1, they play them all the time.

71HlMBgAsTL._SL1500_

Super Animal Genius features nine highly replayable minigames that introduce young learners to hundreds of fascinating facts about 12 different animal habitats and 40 different reptiles, birds, amphibians, and mammals. By playing the minigames and completing Animal Challenge quizzes, players can earn animals for each habitat while learning about the animals’ physical attributes, eating habits, predators, and more.

This game is designed for children ages 5-9, and works with Leapster Explorer, LeapsterGS. LeapPad1 and LeapPad2.

This game is great for children who loves animals. The game starts out with a Savannah and outline of animals. To make the animals appear you have to tap on the outline, play 9 games related to that animal, then take a little quiz. If you pass you earn your animal! The games seem ver simple, like help the Lion through the maze and eat all the Zebra’s before time runs out.

The quiz is a little hard, the questions are mostly related to the games you just played, but I think are more about whether or not you payed attention during the games. All 3 of my kids loved the game, although it did seem a little easy for my 7 year old.

Animal Genius is available at retailers nationwide for $24.99
You can also download the game on the LeapFrog App Center.
