Holiday Gift Guide: Cabbage Patch Babies

When my daughters were born, their first Christmas each one of them received a Cabbage Patch Doll with their name. Baby McKenzie and Baby Alexandra, They still have and play with them today.

Now that my son is a little older, he started asking for a ” Baby Patch doll” as he calls them. There is nothing wrong with a boy wanting a doll! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find any Cabbage patch Babies in the past couple years, until this year. I was invited to Jakks Pacific Toy Fair Preview, and saw the Cabbage Patch babies that would be released this year in August.

When the holidays started getting closer, I started looking for the new Cabbage patch Babies and found them at Target. They had a blonde baby boy with blue dressings with the name Star. I waited to long though and they sold out.

I didn’t know that you could buy dolls on Cabbage Patch Dolls on their website.  You can even name the doll yourself for $3 extra.

I received this doll and am so in love with it. I can’t wait to give it to my son for Christmas.

The Cabbage Patch doll is so cute, it comes with a blanket, bottle, pacifier, and birth certificate. Since I could not find one with the name William, I changed the birth certificate when I ordered. So now his baby has his name William Jack.

Day of Silence

I have been trying to work on some posts, unfortunately, I have not been able to concentrate at all. My heart is broken and i’m so sad about the tragic events in CT.

So today i will be taking a break to remember these beautiful people.

Rest In peace

Just Heartbreaking

I am sure by now you have heard what happened in Connecticut.   So heartbreaking to know that someone could do this.

I have not even been able to post, sleep anything. I do not know anyone who lives there, but I do have a 6 and 7 year old and can only imagine what these parents are going through. School is suppose to be one of the safest places for our children.

I will not even mention the monsters name in this post, because he does not deserve recognition at all. The Hero teachers do and so do the beautiful students who lost their lives.   See That is the problem with the media, they mention the killer more than the victims. Columbine happened so long ago, yet everyone remembers the names of the gunmen not the people killed.

This has had a big impact on the entire nation, parents everywhere are nervous to send their kids back to school.

This morning getting my kids on the bus was just heartbreaking for me, I didn’t want to let them go. You can’t live your life in fear and my kids love school.

My heart goes out to the family of all the victims. I did not know anyone that was lost, but I am grieving with the world. My heart aches that all these beautiful children and teachers were lost to soon.

Holiday Gift Guide: The Odd Life Of Timothy Green Combo Pack Review

securedownload

Disney brings enchantment home with The Odd Life Of Timothy Green, an inspiring, magical story for the whole family starring Jennifer Garner. Cindy  and Jim Green are a happily married couple who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim – and their small town of Stanleyville – learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.

Bonus Features:

  • Documentary- Bringing The Odd Life of Timothy Green to the screen
  • Glen Hansard: Behind This Gift
  • This Gift Music Video
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Audio Commentary

**** I started to really enjoy this movie, although it seems the plot bounces around a lot.   Cindy and Jim long for a child so they put everything they want in a child and bury it in the garden. Timothy arises from the garden and is everything they had hoped for, they learn so much about him and about themselves.  While trying to be good parents they need to face their own insecurities they had themselves as children.   I think the movie was a little to mushy for Disney, my kids could not get into it at all.
