It’s Christmas David-Christmas is coming, and Santa Claus is making his list. David is trying to be good, but when the house is filled with candy canes, Christmas cookies and beautifully wrapped gifts, it’s very hard to stay out of trouble! From wayward snowballs to the sleepless excitement of Christmas Eve, best-selling author David Shannon perfectly captures the joy and laughter of the holiday season.

Captain Blue SkySanta brings Jack his best toy pal, Captain Sky Blue, a pilot. Sky speaks in Pilot Talk (“Roger! Wilco!”). After a thunderstorm separates Sky and his buddy (“Mayday!”), Sky is abducted by a whale, then left alone to wander a frigid ocean floor until he chances upon a very special place, a place where he’s been before (“Now I’m spooled up!”). Captain Sky Blue thinks he has finally found an easy way home, but first he must help Santa out on Christmas Eve –a challenge that puts his pilot skills to the test! From Caldecott Medal Winner author Richard Egielski.

Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy book,cd, and video review

Description: Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy is about a boy named Jimmy who finds a special sea shell on the beach that talks to him.  His family likes the shell but they do not hear it talk. Jimmy is allowed to take the green and white shell home with him, and that’s when the excitement begins. Jimmy finds out his shell is home to a green dragon named Danny who bears red shoes and a yellow backpack. Danny also introduces his navigator Skipper who also crawls out of the shell. The family invites the to stay for dinner and then the night.  Danny tells Jimmy he can shrink if sprayed with water, so he is able to sleep in his shell. As they are ready for bed Jimmy asks where Danny has been in all his travels. Danny says goodnight, i’ll tell you some other time!

There are three great ways to share this book with your child.  You can read it aloud to them, read long with  the book on CD, or read along with the book on dvd. Meno A Nostalgically modern Space Elf Review (Giveaway)CLOSED

I was able to share with my Children The new Meno series books.

This six-book series about Meno, a nostalgically modern space-elf and his out-of-this-world adventures, by award winning author/illustrator Tony DiTerlizzi and his wife Angela, will have kids and parents excited for each and every adventure.  Each story is told with bright illustrations in nonsensical language, as if it were translated from Meno’s Alien language into English. As childlike as they are sweet, these stories find humor in the simplest places, and are a delight to readers both young and old.

Book #1- Parents and Preschoolers get to find out what brings Meno big fun!

Book #2 Meno and Yamagoo decide they want a “friend trio” and, thanks to their wish-granting friend Wishi, get some out-of-the-ordinary choices along the way.

**** These books have bright and colorful pictures, perfect for any preschooler. There is just one thing I don’t like about these books. They really don’t make sense. They do in a way, but the the english is not complete. I don’t know if thats the right choice of words.

For. Ex: :Meno is friend of space, but Yamagoo miss wet friends.

New friend must be wet and live in happy fun bowl.

my kids still enjoyed  looking at the pictures and my preschooler is pretending to read it over and over again.

I have a prize pack to offer one of my readers:

Meno’s first 2 books, plus a blanket of your choice, Blue with Meno or pink with Wishi.

To enter tell me what blanket you would choose.

Happy Holidays WordFriends Review

Frozen Turkey

This DVD features two episodes:

The Christmas Star: It’s the night before Christmas and FROG needs a star to hang on his Christmas tree. DUCK thinks this will be the perfect present for FROG, and tries to lasso one out of the sky for him. Try as he might, DUCK is unable to catch a star fro FROG, and cries himself to sleep. But while he sleeps, someone leaves him a wonderful present: the letters S-T-A-R…

A Christmas Present for DOG: It’s Christmas morning, and all the WordFriends are excited by the presents Santa has brought for them! PIG has a sled, BEAR has a doll, and ant has a cookie. But not all the letters for DOG’s present came down his chimney. All he has is a B-A-L. BEAR gets filled with the Christmas spirit and makes a sacrifice to ensure DOG’s Christmas will be merry!

**** this movie is geared more towards infants I think. my 3.4 yr old were kind of bored with it. My 23 month old enjoyed it though.  This movie is very helpful with my son learning to talk. This would be a great stocking stuffer for a 1 yr old

Moving picture books on DVD(giveaway)

I recently was able to introduce my children to www.movingpicturbooks.com through Momselect. This is picture books on DVD. see a preview below

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msFZUqKCb20]

***My children really enjoyed this DVD, they were hoping on the bed just like Monkeys, laughing and giggling. My oldest even read along with the DVD, her favorite story was Eight Silly Monkeys. This DVD reads the stories in English and Spanish. That was the one thing my children disliked, they lost interest in the Spanish versions because they don’t know spanish. To get to the next story you have to sit through it.

The three stories featured on this DVD are:

Eight Silly Monkeys-counting fun with eight silly monkeys when  they turn their bed into a playground.

Five Little Piggies-counting down is fun with five little piggies and their friends on a fairy tale adventure.

Hungry Bunny-learn colors, numbers shapes, types of food and more with a very hungry bunny.
