YMCA Healthy Kids Day On Long Isand

YMCA locations on Long Will be participating in Healthy Kids Day this Saturday April 27, 2013.

This event is open to the public even if you do not have a YMCA membership.

I attended with my family and they have so many exciting and fun things for kids to do.   They had family Zumba, Mad Science, a petting zoo, and so much more. It is mainly to make you aware of the programs the YMCA offers and why you should join.  We came home with literally a case full of information, along with goodies for the kids.

I think my kids favorite part was the Fire Truck they had for kids to look at. They allowed the kids inside, they got to try on the jacket and hat, and even got to spray the hose.

AnyTime Costumes Is Having The Perfect Sale

Halloween is about 6 months away, but I always like buying my kids costumes super early. They usually go on sale around this time. IN fact Anytime Costumes is having a great Sale right now.

The Lagoona Blue costume comes with a shirt with attached jacket, skirt with attached shorts, leggings and fins.

****This costume is so cute! My daughters are really into Monster High, and my youngest daughters favorite is Lagoona Blue.  The costume looks great on my daughter. The fins are attached to fabric and can just slide on arms and legs.

The costume outfit seemed a little big, but the leggings were just a bit tight. I would suggest getting 1 size bigger than you need.

We Had So Much Fun Egg Hunting

Easter is over but the kids can not stop talking about how much fun they had hunting for eggs. We actually went to two egg hunts this year.

One in our community, where it wasn’t really a hunt as eggs were out in the open. They were allowed 8 eggs each and had face painting etc.

We also went to a egg hunt at my husbands school/job Cold Spring Harbor Lab. That was a lot of fun they always go all out for their staff’s family.

Twilight Sparkle Becomes A Princess

2 weeks ago My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic rapped up their 3rd season on the Hub, ending with Twilight Sparkle earning her wings.  It was a great episode.

If you missed it, you can get it on DVD soon.  Shout Factory will release Twilight Sparkle’s Coronation on April 30, 2013.

*** My daughter is the biggest My Little Pony fan, she has the toys, the clothes etc.   We do not watch a lot of TV though so she usually doesn’t get to see My Little Pony Friendship is Magic on The Hub.   Her being able to watch this dvd, brought a big smile to her face.   She loves Pinkie Pie! This dvd has so many great fun party episodes on it. My favorite would have to be Baby Cakes, where Pinkie Pie has to baby sit the cake twins, and finds it really hard. She does end up winning the twins over though to become their go to babysitter.
