I am a U By Kotex Ambassador #KotexMom

I am excited to announce that i am a U by Kotex ambassador through a Mom Central partnership.  I’ve always dreaded having the talk with my two daughters, but now that they are getting older It will be easier.

My kids are still very young, they are only 6 and 7, but it’s never to early to have the talk with your daughter.   I started my period when just before I turned 10. Yes really that young, and we have family members who have started at 9. So my daughters will starting their periods in just a few years.

I have already had the where do babies come from talk with my daughter, thanks to an episode of Teen Mom. Having the period talk shouldn’t be to much of a shock to her. They have been asking questions from seeing what I do. Like asking what pantyliners are what they are used for.

U by Kotex brand is a brand specifically designed for tweens.
The new pads with heavy flow absorbency in a smaller size than the regular pads, and are designed for younger girls. U by Kotex Tween pads come in vibrant colors and patterns, have a special cover to ensure they stay dry, plus an absorbent core to lock fluid away and help prevent leaks.

I really wish they had these when I first started, I always felt like I was wearing a diaper. I hated it.

Aimee Teegaren Gets real video:

I love this video, although I don’t think my mom prepared me as much. I think I learned more from books and school about having a period. When I started out I used pads with wings, which I think are best for young girls. The pads stay in place no matter how much you move.

To find out more about the Kotex Tween products visit here, or have a question about your perod or how to talk to your daughter get tips here.

Have you had the talk with your daughter?

I wrote this review while participating in a Brand Ambassador Campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of U by Kotex Tween and received products to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Little Mommy Princess And The Potty Doll

Mattel’s Little Mommy line has come out with new dolls and products.  The Little Mommy Line features products from 3 of the most important events in a baby’s life, feeding, bathing and sleeping.

I was invited but could not attend an event in NYC all about the new line, and thought I would share some photos and highlights. Rosie Pope was there offering parenting and play tips.

Even though I did not attend the event, Mattel sent me a Little Mommy Doll. I received the Little Mommy Princess and the Potty Doll. I was a little grossed out at first, a doll that poops in the potty was just something I was not into. My daughters loved the thought of it. They made the doll sit on the potty every 5 minutes.

The doll does not speak herself, unless she is sitting on the potty or you flush the toilet by itself.  She comes with a hand sanitizer jar, and a sippy cup, but no worries the doll doesn’t really drink so no mess to clean up.

I think this would be a great toy for any little girl potty training. My daughter made a little video of her using the potty (the doll).

When you sit the doll on the potty, she sings and the potty actually makes sounds of poop dropping in the toilet. LOL! Away from the potty, she is still a cute little princess doll to play with. My daughter has reserved a spot on her bed for her new doll.

Norwegian cruise Lines is getting kid friendlyClosed

Norwegian cruise line, the way to cruise around this summer is introducing new fun activities for kids. For the younger kids they have Splash Academy and for teens they have a program called Entourage.

Splash Academy: Splash Academy is here and making a big, well, splash. Our new program is specifically designed to engage active and creative kids ages 6 months – 12 years old. Whether it’s learning to juggle at circus school with Cirque du Jour presented by Hilario Productions, working on arts & crafts projects or getting the high score on Wii, there’s plenty of fun for everyone throughout the ship.

You don’t have to worry about your toddler getting left out as they have age groups.

Guppies: 6 mo. – 2 yrs.
Turtles: 3 – 5 yrs.
Seals: 6 – 9 yrs.
Dolphins: 10 – 12 yrs.

Entourage:  Introducing Entourage, our latest and greatest program for teens ages 13-17. Play a pickup game of soccer. Take part in a theater or fashion workshop. Dive into an interactive pool party. With so much to do around our ship, your teens can choose the activities they want to do. Now let’s have some fun!

It’s so much more fun to take the whole family on a Norwegian Cruise.

To get your kids ready for the trip, you can pick them up a cruise worthy outfit from The Children’s Place.

We went out and chose this outfit, jean leggings and a Butterfly graphic tee.

We chose leggings instead of shorts because my daughter is just more comfortable that way and it can get a little chilly after the sun goes down.

I have a fun Norwegian Cruise Line Beach bag and travel mug to one lucky US reader.

My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic Royal Pony Wedding GiveawayClosed

My Little Pony had a royal wedding between Princess Cadence and Shining armor. It aired on television a few weeks ago.

I was able to view it and watch it when it aired. It was really good. It’s amazing at how much the My Little Pony line has progressed over the years.
My daughter loves my little pony and watches it every Saturday, and she was so excited to see that they are finally adding boy ponies.
The wedding starts out with a mystery that Twighlight Sparkle is trying to solve. Why Princess cadence is being so mean to everyone and putting spells on her brother. The other is why she didn’t even know her brother was getting married.
Princess Cadence sends Twighlight into a cave and she finds the real princess, they fight to try and stop the wedding from the change links.

My little Pony Royal Wedding is now coming to dvd on August 7, 2012. You can preorder it now from Amazon.

in Honor of the dvd release I am giving away a My Little pony Compact.

Fijit Newbies Blog Tour

Mattel came out with Fijit Friends a few years ago, and they looked like so much fun. My kids have always wanted them, but we wanted to wait until the price came down.

Mattel newly introduced the Fijit Newbies, which are like fijit babies. While they don’t do as much as a Fijit Friend, they are sell fun.

We received Fijit Friend Sage, and Fijit Newbies Melodee, and Mila

The newbies mainly just play a song and when you put 2 together they can do a duet. which my kids loved the most because they could play and sing with them. Each Fijit has a chirp feature program. When you get your newbie to chirp, your Fijit Friend will respond and say what’s up, then dance to your newbies song.

The Fijit newbies only have a few features but they are fun to play with and have a low price, compared to the Fijit Friend.

Retail: Fijit Newbie retails for $14.99

Rating:9

Disclosure: “I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Mattel and received two Fijit Friends Newbies and one Fijit Friends to facilitate my review.”
