I miss my Games

A few months ago my PC finally died on me after having two years worth of problems, so my husband decided to buy me a Mac. I love the new Macbook, but the one thing it seriously lacks is games. I miss being able to play solitaire or Chess with just the touch of a button. Now I either have to find games online or I need to buy a game app.  Apps can be very costly though, so i think that is out of the question.
Now growing up my favorite game to play was Bingo, I use to go with my grandmother all the time. So i am on the search for Online Bingo games that would be fun and easy for the kids and I. I’ve found a few sites that let you play for money and competition, but I am still on the look out. Another important factor to me is that the online games are free, I don’t have a lot of time to play them , so why pay for them.

What online games do you like to play? Let me know in the comments.

Find the Best Diamonds of for your loved ones at Brilliance.com

When I got married, we had a quick courthouse wedding with gold bands. Now that our 10 year anniversary is coming up, we are thinking of having a big wedding. I have been looking at rings online and came across Brilliance.com. They have an array of different style rings and diamonds to choose from.  I loved browsing the rings, and the navigation of the site was so easy. They have an online wholesale loose diamond search based on carat shape, size and more.  They even have Gemstone rings which are my favorite, Blue Sapphire with diamonds.

Kids have all the fun with Leapfrog

I was recently able to have a little party with some neighbors, and show off some of the newest and greatest Leapfrog products.

While only half of the people showed up on my guest list (To be expected since Pediculus humans capitis has hit our school). We still had a blast though.

The first product I featured and couldn’t wait to get too.
Tag Reader

I love the tag reader, now that my daughter is in Kindergarten and learning how to read, It’s so helpful. The tag reader is not only reads you the story, It helps with sounds and you can play games with it.

Now the That Reader can also be used with the interactive map.

The Interactive map helps with Learning about the world. The kids knew instantly where we lived by identifying the big picture of the Statue Of Liberty.

Next we talked a little about different books that were available, including books with your favorite characters. I also passed out booklets with coloring sheets and $5 coupons for Leapster games (very rare coupon).

The big reveal of the Leap Pad was exciting for everyone. A lot of the parents complained that their kids loved to use their I Pads and smartphones to play games. This is a great alternative for kids and a lot cheaper than a I pad.

The App the kids most got a kick out of was the Funny Face app. Take a picture, the expand the nose, or forehead. All the kids were just cracking up over that.

A big thank you to Mom Select and Leapfrog for allowing me to show my neighbors all about these exciting products. I think I have enticed some parents to go out and get these products themselves.

visit www.leapfrog.com for more information nd to view the products.

Ways to Burn Calories This Fall

I am on a weight loss mission, and keep breaking my routine. Luckily there are a lot of everyday chores that can be done in fall weather that burn calories.

Raking Leaves: Raking leaves doesn’t need to be a household chore. You can make it a family activity. Tighten your biceps and triceps when raking; switch your leading arm once half the yard is done. This works your upper body. If you want to expand to work your legs, lunge backwards alternating legs with every leaf-raking motion.
You can burn 200-350 calories

Jogging with the dog: Grab your pooch and hit the road—literally, hit the road. Aside from being your best friend, a dog can be the best running partner. If your running partner needs a break—don’t stop. Keep jogging in place. To up the ante, you can do jumping jacks or high knees as you wait.
You can burn 200-400 calories per hour

Picking and lifting Pumpkins: When hitting the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve— pick a five, ten and fifteen pound pumpkin. And, don’t be so quick to grab those carving tools. Pumpkins can easily be used as weights. Hold the fifteen pound pumpkin in both arms in front of your upper abdomen area, and rotate your body from right to left. Substitute that medicine ball for a pumpkin! The lighter pumpkins can act as weights to strengthen those arms.
You can burn 150-500 calories per hour

Chloraseptic for those sick days

Someone is always sick at my house, and it usually always starts with a sore throat.  So I always turn to Chloraseptic.

#1 Pharmacist recommended.

Provides fast-acting relief of sore throat and mouth pain.

Soothing liquid center – relieves pain and cools nasal passages

Cannot buy anything stronger without a prescription

Chloraseptic for kids is aspirin free, sugar free and alcohol free, and offers fast

relief for children.

**** I love having these on hand, you never know when you are going to need them. It seems like my kids come home once a month with something they caught from school.  Plus it’s been really hot and dry, which can lead to dry mouth and a sore throat.  My kids love the grape taste of the chloraseptic spray and the relief that comes with it. It needs to be applied every hour though.   I really like the lozenges, they are a great flavor and give relief. Although I seemed to have to go through about 2 before I had any relief.

You can find chloraseptic at retailers nationwide, or find more information at www.chloraseptic.com

Staying Healthy During Cold and Flu Season

I hate Cold season, my kids are in school and usually bring something home at least once a month. I seem to be the only person that never gets sick, so I am the caretaker. I usually take as many precautions as I can when one child is sick, to not let germs spread.

My number one rule is no school, I can’t stand when parents send a sick child to school. So when my kids or hubby is sick. They stay home and stay in bed, Rest is the best cure for a cold. I hate the fact that they have to miss a day, but it’s the best thing for them and for everyone else.
2. Staying warm, when it’s cold outside, I always make sure my kids are warm enough. The weather change so quickly here in NY that in the Fall, jackets are needed for morning but not afternoon. When it snows though I always make sure my family wears heavy coats, boots, mittens etc. I would say this is the toughest part, because me kids hate jackets and will put them on and then walk outside and take them off.
3. Medicine: I always kept every medicine you could think of in the house, but when the recall of all children’s cold medicine happened,I cut back. Now all I keep is aspirin or Tylenol on hand for when they are sick. It helps when they are sick and that’s all that matters.
4.Disinfecting: when someone in my house is sick, I always make sure that my house is sanitized. Every door knob, handle and sink get sprayed with Lysol disinfectant, sheets get washed and toys are cleaned in bleach. Just to make sure that the cold/flu does not come back or spread.
5. Flu-shot- I have never had a flu-shot sadly, but when it comes to my children I make sure that they get one every year.

It’s really important to me when my family is sick with the flu that I do everything I can to make sure they are comfortable and stop the spread of germs.

About Lysol: We do more not just because we can, but because we must. Health matters. To all of us. That’s why we’ve started the Lysol Mission for Health. With new mom programs, healthy habits initiatives in schools and disaster relief efforts, we are dedicated to doing more for health. Our mission is fueled by passion and backed by our expertise in killing germs. So when you use Lysol at home, you’ll know you’re a part of something bigger.

Description: Purex Complete Crystals Softener are 92% natural crystals that go in at the start of the wash so they spend more time with your laundry infusing them with long-lasting freshness.

I tried this and It did not irritate their skin, and my clothes smelled great for days. I had a little trouble with it leaving some residue behind after washes, but it wasn’t that big of a deal.

Retail: $13.00, but I have found them at Kmart and Walmart for around $5.00
