Planes Fire And Rescue Movie Is Not Just For Kids #DisneyPlanes #FireandRescue

Disclosure: No formal compensation was received for this post. I was invited to a screening of the movie by Disney.

When the first Planes movie came out my son was all excited, he had to see it. He is a big Cars fan and knew this would be the next big thing. He loved the movie, but for me it seemed to much like cars for me. Was not what I was hoping.

Planes Fire and Rescue is a big upgrade from the first movie.

Disney’s Planes Fire and Rescue Planes is a new comedy-adventure about second chances, featuring a dynamic crew of elite firefighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfire. When world famous air racer Dusty (voice of Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger and his courageous team, including spirited super scooper Dipper (voice of Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter, ex-military transport Cabbie and a lively bunch of brave all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.

This sequel will keep you in suspense a lot of the time. My kids had their eyes glued to the screen the whole time. I was jumping out of my seat waiting to see what was going to be happening next. There are so many moments that just leave you wondering. The movie also has some funny yet tasteful jokes that only adults and older kids will actually get. For example: There are 2 RV’s having their anniversary and want to go back to where they first kissed, and are reminiscing about it. ” We bought white wall tires and burned the rubber off of those fast, if you know what I mean! Driving around of course.” Could of turned out to be a dirty joke but it wasn’t.

One of the things I loved the most is it has a great storyline and plot. First off at the beginning of the movie it says it’s dedicated to all the Firefighters who risk there lives everyday. In the movie Dusty learns that life is not all about being selfish and famous or popular, it’s about helping others even when it’s dangerous. He learns that after having his life saved!

I would definitely recommend taking the family out to see this movie, the whole family will enjoy it.

Well Well! Maleficent Is Amazing!

I was a little skeptical about this movie just hearing about it because honestly I’ve never really been a fan of Angelina Jolie and the movie just did not sound interesting to me. Another take on a Disney Fairytale is all I thought.

My kids really wanted to see it and since it was my daughters birthday I thought okay we will go. I rarely do this but I will admit I was wrong. The movie was totally AMAZING!!!!! Angelina Jolie was the perfect person for the part.

In the beginning you see the magical wonders of the Moore where Maleficent lives with all the fairy tale creatures. She soon meets a human boy Stephen and becomes smitten. They keep meeting, but he starts to become greedy. The king also hears about Maleficent’s power and starts a attack to destroy her, so he will be the only one powerful.
He fails and falls ill, he announces his successor will be the one who defeats Maleficent. He comes back and pretends to be in love with Maleficent, but one night while she is asleep, he tries to kill her but can’t so cuts off her wings instead.
Fast forward to him being king and announcing the birth of his daughter.
From there it is much like the fairy tale sleeping beauty. She curses the baby and the 3 fairies hide in the woods until she is almost 16 and she escapes, pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep.
She does awaken by true loves kiss but it’s not what you think. I am going to stop there and if you want to know the rest you will have to see the movie.
Like all Disney movies it all works out in the end!!

I will say there are a lot of parts with fighting and a bit of dark magic, but it’s all in good taste. So some kids under 5 may be scared. My kids 6, 8, and 9 all loved it.

Disney’s Maleficent flys into theaters this friday May 30, 2014.

The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.” She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham-Carter) steps forward and – armed with a pumpkin and a few mice – changes Cinderella’s life forever.

Cinderella will be released March 13, 2015
