Easter: Hop Movie Night

We were able to have a Hop movie screening night. We decided Easter would be the perfect night to sit down as a family and watch the movie, since all of our schedules are clear.

My kids and I were able to see Hop in theaters during a birthday party, but my husband has never seen it. They have been anxiously awaiting today to share the movie with their dad.

The movie was so hilarious. E.B Bunny doesn’t want to take over as the Easter Bunny, but wants to become a famous drummer. He sets off to Hollywood, where he meets Fred. They end up being best friends and through all the obstacles become co-Easter Bunnies!  One of my favorite parts in the movie was when E.B pretended to be a stuffed animal, and was making faces whenever Fred’s sister Sam would hold E.B. Then he pretended to be a walking toy that claps his hands, It is so funny and cute.

Happy Birthday McKenzie

Today my daughter turns 7 years old. I can’t believe it, it feels like just yesterday she was a tiny baby.

I can’t believe you are 7, you are so smart and funny. Your everything I ever imagined you would be!

I hope you have a great birthday my beautiful daughter.

So Lucky To Be Alive Today

Today I am try grateful, March 31, 1994 at the age of 9 I was released from the hospital.  On Feb. 19 of that year I was hit by a car and almost lost my life. I had a stroke on my right side (which affected my left side), a ripped ear, 18 fractures in my skull, broken bones in my right arm, amoung other things. I was in a coma for 2 weeks and had to have a lumbar shunt installed, which drains the fluid from my head.  My parents were told I had a 80% chance of not surviving that day.

That was probably the hardest thing I have ever gone through, because of my injuries I had to learn how to walk again, learn to talk again and sign since I had trouble talking.

Even though that was 19 years ago, I am still affected by my injuries.I still have the lumbar shunt, I still have bumps all over my head (fractures never healed right), I suffer from severe headaches, and  i still do not have full control of my left side.

So today the day I walked out of the hospital, I am very thankful for my life.

We are Learning About Women This Month

March is Woman’s History Month, and my kids have been learning all about different woman in history. One of their favorites they have both learned about is Amelia Earhart. She was the first woman to fly around the world, and the first woman to fly solo across the pacific ocean.

In Honor of Amelia Earhart my daughter dressed up like her, it is so cute.

I love This Preschool Work

I recently bought a dry erase activity book to help my 4-year-old learn to write his letters and numbers. We can’t afford preschool so we will be teaching him at home.

I just love this activity book, you can write over and over again since it is dry erase, and there are east traceable lines.

I think he did pretty good for his first time. He ha declared to me that he loves learning though and I am so proud of him.
