Ocean Isle Beach stay

103_2136If you haven’t heard already, I visited Ocean Isle Beach and was a guest blogger at Ocean Isle Inn.  It was a long 4 hour drive but worth it.

The Room- I got a room with a ocean view, so beautiful. It comes with a fridge and microwave  which  is a plus having kids with me. plus they had a coffee maker, ironing board with iron, hair dryer and free wifi.   the room was very nice and had a beautiful ocean view.  you get a free complimentary breakfast too. The only complaint is the beds were a little high.

They have two pools for your enjoyment, a outdoor pool, with a deck that connects to the beach. It also has a outdoor shower so you can rise off sand. They have an indoor heated pool with a spa.  they are both very nice and relaxing.

We also had a chance to explore around, they have some great restaurants like The Giggling Mackerel, Cinellis pizza, and they also had a small food and ice cream parlor/arcade next too ocean isle inn. they have a recreation building next door, which also can give you access to the pier. We did not go on the peir though,  they charge a dollar for adults and fifty cents per child. I refused to pay to walk down a pier.

We loved staying at the Ocean Isle Inn, It’s a small hotel but very quiet an relaxing.  We visited Myrtle Beach during our stay, and i would have to say i would rather stay at Ocean Isle. no fighting crowds, quiet, relaxing. There is no lifeguard tower near by, so you swim at your own risk.

So proud of him again

I’m a little late on this one

i wrote about mt hubby jack getting a award back in December i think. well this may he got to more. he received another student excellence award and the peterbourgh award(i probably spelled that wrong).   I’m so proud of him he has been doing such a great job in school.

He was set to graduate in may, but decided to stay on for another year and go for another bs. so in may of next year he will graduate with a bs in chemistry concentration in biochemistry and a bs in biology!

it’s been a long road but he is doing a great job. not to mention he has had a 4.0 all 4 yrs, even having to deal with me and 3 kids under the age of 5.

Happy Birthday Alex, I love you!

Parenting just hit the hardest point

I need some advice and being that most of us are parents, i’m hoping you can help me.

In Aug of last year my mil passed, she took her own life. we broke the news to our then 3 yr old and 2 yr old. we did not tell them how, just that she was gone.  well my 3 yr old struggled with it for a while.

i tried counseling, but the counselors out here, will only see children 8 yrs and older. someone suggested i try a playgroup, but my insurance won’t cover it and i don’t see how that would help.

so i took my own initivative and made a memory book with my kids and took them by the grave sight 1 a month to visit.

Mothers day, we went and visited the gravesite, and monday was suppost to be her birthday. well since then my daughter has been crying and talking about her constantly. saying how much she misses her.

what am i suppost to do, any advice?

i’ve tried telling her she’s in a better place(we are not really religous), we have other grandparents, everything.

i know maybe just let her talk, but it’s hard to think about, because of the situation that happened.

any advice, would be greatly appreciated

So proud of him

I don’t brag about my husband much, i barely even write about him.  It’ s not that i don’t want to. he is just a private person.  But today i’m going to go ahead and do a little bragging.

a little more info on my hubby. (jack) We met 5 years ago, through my step brother. He went join the army, and after his first tour in iraq, we decided to take our relationship to a serious level and got married.  After another deployment and 3 kids we are still together growing strong.

After the army my hubby decided that the best path for our family is for him to go back to school. he has spent the last 3 years in college studying chemistry.  he will graduate next year with a bs in chemistry with a cconcentration in biochemistry and a bs in biology.

I’m bragging today because my hubby got UNCG’s highest honor, along with about 40 other students.

Student Excellance award

I’m so proud of him!101_1816
