First Spelling Test on the fridge

My daughter has always been great at spelling. Last year she was getting 100% on every spelling test.
This year I feel the same thing will be happening.
Her first test has been put on the fridge.

She wants to ask the school to enter into a spelling bee, which makes me a little nervous since she is only in 3rd grade. I am proud of her working so hard and studying everyday.

Back To School Photos

Today is the actual First week of school. WEdnesday was the first day of school, but then we got a four day weekend for Rosh hashanah.

These are the pics from the first day

My Kindergartener

When they got home they could’t stop talking about how much they loved school and how happy they were. My kindergartener said his favorite part was the bus ride to school and home. LOL!

She’s Getting To old For Mommy

My daughter is 8 and hates when I treat her like a baby. She doesn’t want to ever sit on my lap or hold her. I always try though, she will always be my baby.   I just hate how they grow up so fast.

Yesterday I think I pushed the spend time with mommy and baby stuff on her. I finally got her to agree to do some pics with me, well kind of.

Don’t you just hate how fast they grow up?

Jones Beach Is Beautiful

Living in Long Island has it’s perks, we are surrounded by beautiful beaches, NYC is only a short train ride away. Then there are the downsides, traffic, people being rude (Yes it’s really true), and super high prices.

One of the biggest perks I did not discover until recently

Jones Beach:

Jones Beach is really popular out here, they have a giant concert theater, golfing, swimming pools, beautiful beaches and more.

We live on the North Shore and usually just go to the beaches on the Long Island Sound. The water is calm and I don’t need to worry to much about the kids splashing around. The downside is the beaches are really really rocky.

We have only been to the South Shore once and it scared me, so we never went back. The waves were so big they almost swept my children away even just sitting on the beach in the water.

We decided to give it another shot but this time at Jones Beach. I read online that they have a bay, that is family friendly. No big waves etc.

I can’t believe I waited this long. LOL! It was so beautiful and the water was calmer than here on the North Shore.
The kids were even excited as they saw tons of little fish swimming around in the water. Plus the water was so clear.

V Tech Switch And Go Dinosaur Review and Giveaway #SP #Switchandgo #Vtech CLOSED

Disclosure: The VTech product, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by VTech.

I love when a toy interacts with my child, it makes it so much more fun.

V Tech Switch and Go Dinosaurs are dinosaurs that can turn into race cars. They have a collection of small dinosaurs and then there is Jagger the T-Rex.

IMG_0575

Jagger the T-Rex is huge, I was not expecting him to be that big. He is a lot of fun though, as he responds to voice commands, roars, and moves. When you are done playing with the dinosaur switch him around to a construction crane.
You can change his eyes, and change his voice (country voice). It’s really cute!

When you change him to a crane, he lights up and still follows commands.

We received Jagger the T-Rex and a assortment of small dinosaurs. He has not stopped playing with them since they arrived. He loves Dinosaurs and cars, it’s the best of both worlds for him.

I am giving away three small V Tech Switch and Go Dinosaurs to one lucky reader.

Letter From President Obama #Obama #fun

Just sharing some fun information with my readers

My daughter had sent a letter to President Barack Obama, she drew him a picture and said how happy she was that he was president etc. etc.

It took like 6 months or more, but she finally got a response. It was not personal at all. A typed letter saying dear student, thank you for your support etc.

It also had autographed pictures and a interview with him.

It’s not the most exciting thing in the world, but to a 7 year old it’s everything!!

Sharing A Childhood Favorite With My Kids

Disclosure: No compensation at all was received. This is a free show presented by the Huntington Arts Council.

When I was younger I would watch Lamb Chops Playhouse, yes I watched it. My mother complained all the time, she hated “This is The Song That Doesn’t End”

I loved it though! Unfortunately Sherry Lewis passed away in 1998 and the show stopped.

A few years later her daughter took over and played Lamb Chop. 13 years later I finally got to introduce my children to Lamb Chop, as Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop came to our town.

It wasn’t exactly the same as Mallory has made the show her own, but it was still great to have my kids experience one of my childhood favorites.
