Fleischmann’s Simply Homemade Facebook Contest

I have never made homemade bread myself, but whenever I go into a bakery I am in heaven. It smells so goos you just can’t get enough.

Now fresh bread is so easy to make at home, Fleischmann’s Simply Homemade has all the ingredients you need including yeast and sugar. All you need to do is add water, stir, and rise and bake. They come in 4 different flavors Country White, Wheat, Stoneground, Italian Herb, and Multi-grain.

To get you in on the action Fleischmann’s Simply Homemade wants you to use the mix and add your own special touches to it. Then take a photo and upload it to their Facebook page. The first 1000 entrants will receive a 50 cent coupon and will be entered into win a great prize pack valued at $100.

Chex Party Mix and Sam’s Club Gift Card GiveawayCLOSED

One thing I always love making during the holidays Chex Party Mix. It’s so easy to make and oh so good!

Sam’s Club wants to change it up a bit, make your Chex part mix a bit more favorable.

My favorite would have to be Chex Carmel Chocolate Drizzles

  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 1/2 bag 14 oz Carmels (about 25)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

In large microwaveable bowl, mix cereals

In medium microwavable bowl, microwave caramels, butter and milk uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes, stirring after each minute, until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Pour over cereals; gently stir until evenly coated.

Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after each minute, until just beginning to brown. Spread on waxed paper to cool.

In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered
on High about 1 minute or until chocolate can be stirred smooth. Drizzle over snack. Refrigerate until set. Store in airtight container.

The recipe is mainly made up of penne pasta, cucumbers, olive oil, grape tomatoes, Chicken and feta cheese. We made ours without chicken and feta cheese.

It was good but a bit plain.  The book has so many more recipes though, like faces cupcakes, Sandy’s intergalactic fruit basket, Gary’s Speedy spirals, and so much more.

Now that Halloween is over, the next holiday to think about is Thanksgiving. The first thing I think of is food, and of course Turkey.

We cooked last year on our own for the first time, and though I set the Turkey out a day and a half before hand it still was not thawed. I tried water everything. So the best tip I can give is to prepare and set out the turkey well in advance or to buy fresh.

Spaghetti Tacos

My kids love watching iCarly, and when they saw Spaghetti Tacos being served on the show, they really wanted to try it. So I decided to make it and it’s not bad at all. Even I like It!
