Holiday Guide: Holiday Gifts with Personal Creations

Personal Creations is a website where you can find the best personalized gifts for any occasion. They have Christmas, birthday and anniversary gifts.

I love personalized gifts they make the gift so much more special. I decided to get a few gifts for my kids as well as for myself.  For my kids I bought Personalized character placemats. Disney Cars, Princess and Fairies all personalized with their names.

I love these placemats, my kids say they make mea time so much more fun.  They seem a little flimsy, but they seem to be holding up so far.  They are laminated which is great, it makes them easier to clean and wipe down.

I also got my son a personalized t-shirt with his name and Spongebob characters.

This shirt is so much fun.  My son loves Spongebob and to be recognized. Now whenever he wears this shirt and we are out everyone says Hi, William I love your eyes. LOL!  It can also be a little scary though I guess. Either way he loves this shirt.

I also ordered a personalized ornament. My favorite thing about this ornament is it is personalized for my whole family.  I absolutely adore this ornament, my whole family loves it. It is so detailed from every little head with a name to the blanket.

My last name is so long that I could only put my last name instead of The Walleshausers.

Disclosure: I received a gift card in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

SkyLanders Giants Are Available At Best Buy Stores

We recently went to Best Buy to do some Christmas shopping and they had the Skylanders Giants Demo set up to play for the PS3. Immediately my kids jumped on it as they love video games.

The Story: Thousands of years ago, the Giants fought epic battles in Skylands but were banished to Earth. With a new threat looming, it’s time to bring them back to join forces with the Skylanders to defeat KAOS. Only you can put them on the Portal of Power to unleash their strength in the ultimate battle to save Skylands!

We had arrived at the store early, so I think we were the first people to play the game for the day. It wasn’t really set up. After a few tries, we got it going. My daughter loved how you incorporate little figurines into the game.

My kids could have stayed there all day and played it was an epic adventure that would never end for my kids. They were switching out characters constantly just to watch them come to life. They wanted to bring the game home that instant!

Skylanders Giants is available at all Best Buy Locations, for a demo please check to see if there is a store near you.

Available on Wii, PS3 and X Box 360 and Nintendo 3DS.

Disclosure: This reviewer Has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

Reading On The Kindle

They have made great improvements in technology. I love to read but I hate having the books cluttered around. I am also the kind of person where after I read a book I usually donate it, unless it is amazing.

Having a  Kindle makes it so much easier for me. I can download any book I want and don’t have to worry about clutter or what to do if the book isn’t good.

There is a big Variety of eBooks for the Kindle, I just stumbled upon a really good one called Savvy Auntie.

It’s a book about being the cool aunt, and loving kids without having kids of your own.   I am relating to this book, since I was an aunt long before I had kids and would go crazy over my nieces and nephews.   I would spend so much money and time on them and be the aunt that always wanted to spend time with.

I already have over 50 books on my kindle that I will be reading for the next year.

Celebrate Easter With Build A Bear and Hop

Easter is just right  around the corner and everyone will be cuddling with bunnies and chicks. It’s what Easter is all about, oh and finding eggs too.

The movie Hop came out in theaters last year and is coming to dvd March 23, 2012. Hop is about E.B Bunny who is destined to take over as the Easter bunny, but all he wants to do is rock out on the drums. He goes to Hollywood to peruse his dream.

So when you pick up your copy of Hop for a Easter basket, pick up E.B Bunny from Build A Bear Workshop for your child to cuddle up with while watching the movie.

E.B Bunny is so cute and soft, he is a great addition to any easter basket. His clothes are what really makes him look like the character from the movie without them he just doesn’t seem the same. I received E.B Bunny from Build A Bear Workshop for review and my kids just love him.

My kids have been watching the movie while cuddling with this little guy and they can’t get enough of him.

Easter Idea: Creativity Matters with Crayola GiveawayClosed

I love when my kids draw or build things,  it shows their creativity and imagination.

Creativity is something every child can learn and express on their own, it helps them get ready for the future and beyond. Creativity is not about who´s the best artists or becoming an architect. It´s a way of thinking that encourages kids´ original ideas and develops their confidence.

We received a Crayola prize pack to get our creative minds rolling.

  • My first Crayola Washable crayons, markers and stampers- .
  • Crayola Mess Free Color Wonder Tiny Tube-
  • Crayola Crystal Effect Window Markers
  • Crayola Washable Kaleidoscope  Chalk
  • Crayola Dry Erase Crayons
  • Crayola Dual Sided Dry Erase Board

We absolutely loved all of these Crayola products, my favorite was the My First Crayola because they are perfect for my sons little hands. So much easier for him to draw his pictures.  My daughters loved the 3D chalk, they drew on the side walk and then it came to life. The red stood out more than any other color.  The window markers are fun to use and easy to clean off, but we didn’t go to crazy with it just in case.  The dry erase markers and board, really come in use in my house. My daughters use them for homework problems, but the only downside is that when you erase there is still a residue. It does not come off very well.

Crayola held a “Inside The Crayola Box” event with Lisa Loeb, where she shared her insights and her kids creativity.

I have a Crayola Prize pack to giveaway to one reader. One US reader will win all the same items i received.

A Way To Show You Care

A Guest Post By Katie Baldesweiler

It’s always hard to shop for people. Those celebration days come around every year. Whether it’s Christmas, a birthday, a wedding or a baby shower, you find yourself pondering, “What should I get Linda?” or “What gift would Bob like?” I know I spend hours in the stores, walking through aisle after aisle, fingering through the unoriginal products and items. Every shopping trip, I leave empty-handed because I just can’t get behind a purchase. I don’t feel like it’s worth it. So after wasting gas and my time, I am just frustrated and without a gift.

I always thought that do-it-yourself gifting was so thoughtful and meaningful. The Internet offers a great way to browse through cute DIY blogs and websites with information and tutorials on how to make your own presents. But with a 9 to 5 job, it’s hard to find time to put something together like that.

We all know that the way to someones heart is through their stomach. Cliché, but true. I find great joy in baking and cooking for others. I think that says a lot about me as a person, too. It’s easy to see the common trend here; I like to give things to people that are from the heart.

I always found gift baskets to be a such a great concept. I remember the carnival my elementary school had and they raffled off these fabulous gift baskets that every homeroom classroom made. My dad stuffed the cans of a few of the baskets and what do you know, we went home with TWO! We won an “Italian-themed” gift basket full of pasta and spices. And a “bakers-themed” gift basket full of all the supplies you need to start your own bakery.

Feeling sentimental, I scoured the Internet for a place that could help me out with a gift basket and I found http://www.gourmetgiftbaskets.com. With countless themes including “cupcake”, “gardening”, and “spa and pamper” how could you go wrong? I’ve got this site bookmarked for the next time I am stumped and have no clue what to get for my Aunt June.
