A New Day, A new Attitude #blogher12

Blogher is fast approaching and I have been really nervous. My first Blogher in 2010, I didn’t hang out with anyone and I was really shy. I even sat at the breakfast/lunch tale by myself.

This year I have felt the same, mainly because of all the drama that surrounds bloggers day to day. That I see on Facebook and Twitter, bullying, putting people down etc.   I have always had the courage inside to defend and be confident, but could never say anything.

I use to be so blunt and honest, and would speak my mind, but I learned the hard way that there are creul people who will try and kill you or hurt you bad if you speak your opinions.

So as Blogher is only a few days away, I woke up with a new attitude.

Am I still a little nervous sure, but I will……

  1. Not let anyone say anything bad about me or another blogger I am around.
  2. Defend any child that is critized or spoken bad about. Come on people they are our children. I for one am a Mama Bear and will attack.
  3. I will be getting my blog off the ground, handing out buisiness cards to everyone I see.
  4. feel empowered

See you at Blogher!!!!!!

Living Like A No Time Mommy

I chose the blog name No Time Mommy, because I am a mom who really doesn’t have time for herself. I’ve gotten use to it so I am not complaining. Having 3 kids in less than 3 years is a lot to deal with, even more than that my Husband is a PHD student. So his schedule always comes first, then kids, then mine. A big reason my blog is still small. I am not the typical mom I hear about all the time.
I have never been away from my kids longer than a few hours, (with the exception of giving birth). I have never been to a salon or spa etc.

Again, I am not complaining since I have alway been the type of person to put everyone before myself anyway.

Now starting in September, I will really live up to the No Time Mommy name. My 4 year old just enrolled in Pre-K, I am thrilled and excited for him. Now my schedule will be crazy.

Since we only have 1 car, my schedule will go something like this:

older two get on bus
drop hubby off at school
drop preschooler off at school
clean clean clean
pick up older two from school
Pick up preschooler from school (keep in mind the schools are miles from each other).
Pick up hubby from school.

Yes I will have a few hours of no children, but that would be the time to clean and organize since they are gone.

Blogher 12 is my last hurrah, before my busy life starts again. LOl

Blogher 2012 My plan #blogher12

This year I am going to Blogher 2012, I did not go last year but attend 2010.

This is my second year and I am really excited, I am not sponsored in any way at all. In fact the only reason I am able to attend is because it is so close to my house. I will be the person everyone laughed at in 2010 again, I am not staying at a hotel. I will be traveling back nd forth to my home, therefore any swag I get will be on my arms.

My Blogher plan is short and simple.

I will be there Thursday evening, all day friday and part of the day Saturday, also Sunday morning.

I really hope to get a lot of connections out of Blogher this year. My blog is still really small after 4 years, and I would love to move up.

I have a goal of handing out all my 350 business cards this year. I hope it all works out.

I know that there has been a lot of talk about parties and people begging for invites. Not me: I was invited to a few events with companies I have worked with for years, but have said no to a lot and want to leave as much time as possible for the conference. After all why pay all this money for a ticket, if you are not going to attend the actual conference.

Just my thought!!!

My only problem I have this year is I want to look professional, unfortunately I don’t have a lot outside of t-shirts and jeans. I am going to try though. Not buying anything new.

Living here in Ny I know two things It will either be Hot and Muggy or rainy Hot and Muggy. LOL So I have to base my clothes on that.

Will you be attending Blogher this year?

Last Few days of school

Today is the last day for my daughter in Kindergarten, and tomorrow is the last day for my 1st grader. These last couple days have been so much fun. I have attended their end of the year parties outside.

I felt so bad afterward for dressing them like this. They are cute outfits, but it was 93 degrees yesterday and even hotter in the school since they had no AC.

The Important Initiatives In My House #HormelFamily

I have been working with Hormel foods this year, and they have released their Corporate responsibility Report.  They have one so much this past year like reducing packaging on products or cutting sodium out of products.

They asked what are the important initiatives that take priority in my house, and how we choose companies to support.

Since I am a mother most of mt important initiatives revolve around my kids. One of the most important initiatives in my house is Education. I dropped out of college when I was pregnant and i don’t want my kids to ever give up on their education. We help them out with homework and read to them every night. My husband is even working on his PHD right now, and the kids love to hear about his experiments.

It’s also important that I feed my kids healthy foods, with so much sugar and other things in foods. I always try to get my kids to eat healthy and eat tons of fruit and veggies. I can rarely get them to drink water, but they will drink juice ( I always buy juice with no High Fructose Corn Syrup). They never drink really sugary drinks or soda.

When it comes to our Choosing and helping a company, we always have use the companies that touch our hearts. When we donate clothes and toys, we always drop them off in bins set up around town for Breast Cancer Help Inc.  Another company I have always supported and have donated what I can is St. Jude.  I have met some of the patients and they have really inspired me with how brave and strong they are.

What are the important initiatives in your home?

Disclosure: I’ve partnered with Hormel Foods as part of the Hormel Foods Extended Family Blogger Program. Throughout the year I’ll be receiving product, coupons, giveaways and promotions. However, no payment was given or expected for posting about the program, and as always, all opinions given here are fully my own.

Memorial day Sharing Photos

Today is Memorial day and while most people are out having barbecues and hitting the beach, we are at home thinking of the good friends we lost in iraq.

Yes, my husband was in the army for 4 1/2 years, and served 2 tours in iraq.

Pictures of my husband in Iraq.

I sincerely thank my husband for his service and sacrifice, but today my family is thinking of those that were lost.

In july 2005, on the second tour to Iraq, my husband’s unit lost 4 really good guys including my husbands best friend.

SGT. MIlton Monzon JR.

Staff SGT. Jason Montefering

Army SPC. Ernest Dallas JR.

PFC. Ramon Villatoro JR.

All 4 of these guys died July 24, 2005 in Iraq by a IED, they were all in the same vehicle.

Rest in peace, we are thinking of you this Memorial day.
