Quest For Zhu DVD Review and Giveaway Closed

The heartwarming tale of four lively young teens (who just happen to be hamsters) on a quest to find the Palace of Zhu, where they believe all their dreams will come true. Join the feisty and lovable Pipsqueak as she gets swept away to the other side of the Zhuniverse. On her adventure, she befriends Chunk, Num Nums and Mr. Squiggles, and when they arrive at the Palace of Zhu, they realize it is just the beginning of their remarkable journey. A mean-spirited and controlling reptilian creature, Mezhula, tries to stand in the way of making all of their dreams come true but, by working together, our true Zhu heroes save the day! Pipsqueak realizes she already had everything she ever dreamed of and all she really wants is to find a way back home.

**** Quest for Zhu was a bit different of a movie than I was expecting. I was expecting a movie that would go along with the Zhu Zhu playlets and such, even though I don’t know where that would go.  After Pipsqueak runs away from her owner she meets up with all the other Zhu Zhu and they head for palace of Zhu. When they arrive they find the palace has been taken over and have a bigger adventure to come and save the palace.

My kids loved this movie and even acted out the parts with their own little Zhu Zhu action figures.

Release date: September 27, 2011

Summer Camp At Kindercare

We received a free week at camp at Kindercare for a earlier campaign I did.  Kindercare is a daycare/school fot young kids, They have preschool and kindergarten. During the summer they dedicate each week to a new camp, like fiesta kitchen and Water play.

My daughter Alex is 5 and will be starting Kindergarten in the fall, but she has never been to preschool. So I was a little nervous about how she would react in the Fall when school starts. Luckily this opportunity for Summer camp came up and I thought it would be the perfect time to send her and let her get use to being away from me and interacting with others. She decided on Water Play week!  On her first day I was so nervous, but according to the Teacher, after I dropped her off she went straight into the classroom, grabbed a girls hand and started playing.

Her first day she said that they played throuth the sprinkler and were making different things with water. She was so proud that she finally realized she loved oatmeal, which they were given for lunch. I thought that was so funny, considering I’ve tried to give it to her so many times.

Throughout the week, they played outside in the water and did various water activitys (which is good because it was hitting 90 degrees).  Then after camp they would play games and draw pictures.

The came the last day, she was so sad to go but had learned a ton. She was singing songs, telling me the name of all her new friends and actually had a bit more confidence for being away from mom and playing with others.

She loved being able to do this, and the teachers and director were so nice.

Blue Bunny Ice Cream

We recently got to try some Blue Buny Ice cream treats Thanks To Mom Select. We tried mini ice cream sandwiches, Champ mini swirls vanilla, and Champs birthday party cones.

The ice cream was very delicious! Ice cream sandwiches came in chocolate and vanilla, so you could enjoy either flavor.  The mini cones were my favorite, the vanilla swirl has a chocolate outside and vanilla inside. I almost ate the whole box it was so good. LOL!  My kids loved the birthday cones, they were almost like the vanilla swirl, but instead of a chocolate outside they had sprinkles. All the variety are mini so they are great for portion control. My family and I loved these.

Faces Of The Future Campaign

I have never been to a boys and girls club, but growing up I always wish I had. My friends would talk about all the fun they had and how much support they had.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), in partnership with Microsoft and Comcast, has launched the Faces of the Future campaign, designed to raise awareness about the importance of digital literacy. The campaign features youth from across America who have been positively impacted by the Club Tech program and shows how technology can transform lives.

Boys and Girls Club has always been known as a safe place parents can send their kids to play sports, but it has evolved into so much more. They now have a club tech program that helps kids through technology, like graphic design, photography and more.

You can help the boys and girls club by liking them on Facebook, for every ten likes they get a club member will receive Microsoft Office 2010. By clicking the like button you’re helping those kids in need.

KinderCare Summer and Spring Camp Fun

Summer is approaching and my kids will be out of school, so now is a great time to start thinking about summer camps and ways to keep the kids entertained while they can learn.  My husband will have a long summer working and while I am home, its hard to get out and about with 3 kids and do summer activities. So I am looking into Summer camps.

One of the places I’ve looked into is KinderCare since I have 2 children preschool age.  KinderCare has a variety of Summer and Spring camps available for all ages, from Toddler to Kindergarten.  Spring camp is all about getting down in the dirt and learning about science, while Summer camp there are 12 different fun Summer themes to choose from.

If your Spring break hasn’t passed yet, you can get in on the fun at Spring camp.  Spring camp is held during your school districts Spring break, and will have your child planting and tending to vegetables. They also get to make compost, garden related crafts, and even prepare their own veggie treats.  This is perfect for the kids who like to dig and get dirty.

If your spring break is passed, then you can still think about Summer camp like Scienterrific and Kids Kitchen.  I like Scienterrific because my husband is a scientist and I think it’s interesting for them to see what daddy does. Children learn physics of movement through hands on activities, like making paper airplanes.   Kids Kitchen help kids identify what they are eating, and determine what family they belong in.  They also get the chance to cook, making things like salsa, fruit fiesta and more.  It’s all centered around fruits and veggies.

There are over 1300 KinderCare locations, Check out the website and find one near you to get your kids started on a Spring or Summer fun adventure.

Disclosure: No compensation was received for this post. I will be receiving a free week of camp from KinderCare through Mom Select.
