I am one of the new Fox Home Insiders and am so excited that I get to share these great movies with my readers. My kids love to be able to see all the new movies and characters.

1 of my readers will win:

1 copy of Shrek The Musical on Blu-ray
1 copy of Kung Fu Panda: The Scorpion Sting
1 copy of Monsters Vs. Aliens: Cloning Around

Halloween is just around the corner and these movies all have characters that would make perfect costumes.

Shrek The Musical:

The greatest fairy tale never told comes to life as never before in DreamWorks’ Shrek The Musical, the highly acclaimed Broadway production based on the smash-hit movie. Called a “triumph of comic imagination” (Elysa Gardner) that “never stints on spectacle or laughs” (David Rooney), Shrek The Musical received eight 2009 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical, winning Best Costume Design of a Musical (Tim Hatley) and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Show Album.

Shrek
Unknown-1

Shrek may not want to welcome visitors to his home in the swamp, but this big green ogre would make a fun guest in your home this Halloween! Although he puts up a tough front, Shrek has a soft spot in his heart for those he cares about, especially Donkey and Fiona. This goofy guy brings the laughs with his Scottish-Irish accent and one-liners! He’s also great for scaring off enemies with his stinky breath, huge size, and frightening yell.

Monsters vs. Aliens: Cloning Around

Get ready for a world of hilarious monster mischief and alien antics in this all-new animated TV series inspired by DreamWorks Animation’s ginormous hit movie Monsters vs. Aliens. Join team leader Susan, muscle-bound Link, ingenious Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D., and B.O.B., the gelatinous blob, as the residents of the government containment area embark on fun-filled adventures under the not-too-watchful eye of General Monger!

B.O.B
Unknown-2

B.O.B., short for Benzoate Ostylezene Bicarbonate, got his name when he was accidentally created in a laboratory from some scientists experimenting with chemically- and genetically-altered food products. This one-eyed blue blob was held in captivity in Area Fifty-Something for decades, but he still has a friendly personality and contagious smile. Since B.O.B is a large gelatinous mass, he can change his shape easily and absorb any object. Although he has no brain, B.O.B. is quite intelligent! This big, blue blob is exactly the person you want by your side on a creepy Halloween night.

Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.
Unknown-3

An intellectual mad scientist, Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. is known for bursting into psychotic laughter while completing his experiments. But, don’t be fooled. Dr. Cockroach has not always been this way. In the 60’s he developed a device that would allow humans to live a lifespan similar to that of a cockroach. When his creation went wrong, Dr. Cockroach came away with the head of a bug and the ability to climb walls and digest garbage just like cockroaches. His intelligence and lifespan make him a force to be reckoned with!

Kung Fu Panda: Scorpion Sting

Get ready for more high-kicking action and fur-flying fun in this awesome animated TV series based on the Academy Award®-Nominated hit movieKung Fu Panda*! He may not be your typical warrior, but Po packs an arsenal of martial arts skills as big as his heart…and his stomach. Always ready to fight for what’s right, Po and the Furious Five—Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Crane and Viper—face exotic dangers at every turn, including a pair of magic shoes with an evil “sole,” and Scorpion, one of the sharpest villains in all the land!

Po
Unknown

The courageous dragon warrior, Po Ping, is always up for a new adventure. Although Po is not your typical Kung Fu warrior, he uses his personality and his strengths to solve problems and protect those who need him most. He has an excitement for life and is determined to be the best warrior that he can possibly be. Sometime Po can be a little immature and rambunctious, but he has a kind heart and knows the importance of family.

Tigress
Unknown-1

A vital member to the Furious Five, Tigress has unmatchable strength and bravery. She is a master at Kung Fu and at one point was considered to be destined for the title of Dragon Warrior. Although her short temper can still appear sometimes, Tigress has learned to be more friendly and calm. At times she is quiet and less sociable than the other members of the Furious Five. Overall, she possesses a strength and dignity that makes others admire her.

2 Broke Girls Moves To A New Time #2brokegirls

I love the show 2 broke girls. I know it’s all acting and scripted, but it really reminds me of my life when i was a teen and growing up. We have always been in the low-income bracket and struggled, even now I still struggle. When I was 18 though and I finally moved on my own was so hard.

I moved into a low-income subsidized apartment, that I had to spend 75% of my time there killing cockroaches. I was working at a thrift store at the time and wasn’t making much, so I lived off of ramen and frozen pizzas. I would go to my moms house and ask Can I have this and raid her kitchen. The best part about being on my own was no rules and my apt. had great view of a big hill mountain thing. LOL! When you live like that you don’t take anything for granted.

2 Broke Girls is a comedy about the unlikely friendship that develops between two very different young women who meet waitressing at a diner in trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and form a bond over their dream of one day owning their own successful cupcake business. Only one thing stands in their way – they’re broke. Sarcastic, street-smart Max Black met the sophisticated, school-smart Caroline Channing when the uptown trust fund princess was having a run of bad luck due to her father’s Wall Street scandal, which caused her to lose all her money and forced her to give waitressing a shot. At first, Max sees Caroline as an entitled rich girl, but she’s surprised to find that Caroline has as much substance as she does style. When Caroline discovers Max’s knack for baking amazing cupcakes, she visualizes a lucrative future for them and they begin to save money to reach their start-up money goal of $250,000. As the girls’ cupcake tally expands week-to-week, they become closer to their goal and to each other. At the diner they are surrounded by their offbeat, colorful “work family”: Oleg, an overly flirtatious cook; Earl, a hip 75-year-old cashier; Han, the eager-to-please owner of the diner; and Sophie, the girls’ outrageous upstairs neighbor. As Max and Caroline climb toward their goal, we see that their “smarts” plus their “hearts” might just be the recipe for success.

2 Broke Girls is moving to a new time Mondays at 8:30/7:30 c on CBS

Disney’s Planes Soars Through the Sky #DisneyPlanes #Movies

securedownload

My family and I were invited to a screening of Disney’s Planes before it opened in theaters. It got off to a rocky start as the movie kept malfunctioning, but once it started my kids were very excited.

Planes is about a crop duster who wants to be a racer, the only problem is he is afraid of heights. Through his training he is mentored by a old fighter pilot, as well as a gas truck and forklift. His dream is to win the Wings Around the Globe race.

My son who is a big cars fan loved this movie, the bright colors and characters are enough to keep young children’s attention focused. It was a very good movie with a few parts that could scare a small child like a 10 second plane fighting scene. Planes has a lot of charcters you will remember from Cars and Cars 2, like Brent Mustangburger, the Sushi Chefs, and the tractors.

I couldn’t help but feel a lot of similarities to Cars and Cars 2. There is the rookie taking lessons from a mentor, Lightning McQueen with Doc Hudson and in Planes Dusty with Skipper. Propwash Junction is a small town not on the map, just like in Cars. The race around the world, and more.

It is a good movie though for the smaller crowd. I will be taking my son to see the movie again, since he liked it so much.

Disney’s Planes” is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar.

Teen Beach Movie On Disney Channel

Disclosure: I received Disney Channel “Teen Beach Movie” products in exchange for a post about the film. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

image001

The newest movie from Disney Channel will premiere this July. Teen Beach Movie stars Maia Mitchell and Austin and Ally’s Ross Lynch in a breezy musical comedy that’s sure to get you and your family up singing and dancing! It a beach party movie but has a great message through the film about following your dreams and believing in yourself.

image003

My kids have been patiently waiting for this movie to come on, they said from the commercial it looks like a fun dancing movie at the beach.
It’s actually like a West Side Story meets the future on the beach.

To gear up for the movie we have been planning a beach party, unfortunately it gas been raining or thunderstorms here almost everyday. So we will be having a indoor party with towels, bathing suits and popcorn.

Teen Beach Movie premieres July 19, 2013 at 8 P.M. ET.

Monsters University Movie Review

image001

I was invited to a movie screening of Monsters University this past Tuesday. I love going to Disney screenings, we love their movies. The downside to screenngs are the lines and tons of people get turned away.

Monster University is a prequel to the movie Monsters INC. I was a little nervous going in because prequel are usually never good. They don’t tie in to the original movie and usually just coming out making no sense.

image003

Disney Pixar’s Monsters University was actually good. My kids loved getting to see the monsters at a younger age and only dream about becoming a scarer. Mike and Sully actually start out as enemies who can’t stand each other in college. Mike is the guy who knows every book inside and out. Sully is Mr. Popular who is living up to the Sullivan name as a scarer. Although he does not feel he needs to study.

Mike is not scary enough to be a scarer and sully not smart enough so they are kicked out of college. They use the Scare Games to try and win their way back but Sully ends up cheating.

Forced to find a new way to become a scarer, they decide to start at the bottom and work their way up.

There are a lot of new characters in the movie, but you will still find some familiar faces too. That is what ties this prequel into the original movie. Some familiar faces are the abominable Snowman, Mr. waternoose, Roz, and Randall.

Take your kids to see this movie, my kids just couldn’t stop laughing.

Monster University Opens Today June 21, 2013
