Gift Idea: Magic School Bus Dinosaurs LeapPad Game #Scholastic

Disclosure: No compensation was received for this post. A product was provided by Scholastic. All opinions are my own.

My kids are always playing their Leapfrog Leapster Explorers everyday, they have almost beaten every game we have.   Every time they come out with a new game my kids are begging for it.

There are so many games we still don’t have, but my kids will be adding them all to their holiday lists.

When they came out with The Magic School Bus Oceans for the Leapster, we immediately got it for my daughter. She is really into science and loves The Magic School Bus series. Scholastic has now released The magic School Bus Dinosaurs Leapster/LeapPad game.

This game encourages children to think like scientists as they learn about prehistoric creatures. Kids travel back in time with Ms. Frizzle to the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous time periods, playing six games that teach fundamental life science concepts and hundreds of facts about sixteen prehistoric creatures. The game focuses on using identification, observation and classification skills to teach facts about dinosaur skeletons, their size, survival strategies and the time periods in which they lived. Players also can earn badges for achievements during game play.

Teaches:

Dinosaur Facts
Life Science
Logic and Reasoning
Observation Skills

PicMonkey Collage

This game is recommended for K-4th grade or ages 5-9, but it seemed a little to easy for my 3rd grader. Mrs. Fizzles class as crazy as she is takes the kids back in time, to visit the dinosaurs. You play 4 mini games to unlock a dinosaur. The games are very simple, finding a certain dinosaur and taking pictures, dinosaur puzzle and more. When the puzzles are finished you unlock a dinosaur. The first it showed was a T-Rex, and then Arnold from Mrs. Fizzles class became a T-Rex, it was really funny. You guide him through a maze to eat plant eating dinosaurs. There are 16 dinosaurs to unlock.

You can find The Magic School Bus Dinosaurs at Scholastic or Leapfrog for $24.99

I am only 28 years old but I have had a lot of family members that have fought or are fighting cancer. It’s never something I want to hear, that someone is battling cancer, It’s the worst feeling in the world. I have had a few aunts and other family members diagnosed and I wasn’t as close with them, but it was still hard to hear.
My mother was diagnosed with skin cancer on her arms. She lives in Arizona and just going out on day to day basis can damage your skin. Even sitting in the car with the sun beaming down can be damaging. Luckily it was caught early and they were able to remove it all with surgery. Unfortunately since then her health has declined and has tons of medical problems, and is getting checked for breast cancer regularly.
My grandfather was diagnosed with Cancer and it was devistating for my grandmother who battled breast cancer herself. His body just couldn’t handle it and he got to the point where he was bed rested. He was the only close family member that has passed from Cancer.
My Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer at the worst possible time. She was diagnosed when I was hit by a car, so right after surgery she came to take care of my brothers. She is a survivor though and made it through, but it was very hard to watch her go through it all.
My Aunt In-law has been diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and was doing surgery as well as chemo for a long time. It was hard to watch how much pain she was in.
My Grandmother in-law is currently battling stage 4 colon cancer right now. She also had variety of other problems at the same time, back problems, leg problems etc. The doctors were literally crying watching her walk out of the hospital, her cancer was so massive and diagnosing it as a stage 4, they didn’t think she would make it. She is a miracle.

I received a Giving Comfort kit to review and I will be sending it to my mother, so she can be comfortable while she is fighting all these health conditions. I just love this kit, it comes with a relaxing robe, eye pillow, book, journal, and so much more. It’s the perfect kit to make her feel relaxed and take her mind off of everything for a little while.

IMG_0750

This kit is packaged so cute. It all comes in a bag to carry around. The robe is one size fits most, but it’s actually pretty big. I was a little worried it wouldn’t fit the person I am sending it to, but no worries.

Please consider sending one of these kits to a person fighting cancer, it really does bring a smile to their face. Visit Giving Comfort today to find your kit.

Card.com is the perfect this holiday season Giveaway #SP #GiveawayClosed

Disclosure: A Card.com Visa card was provided for my review, and another for giveaway. All opinions are 100% my own.

I hate carrying cash, sometimes it’s the easiest thing to have but I spend it way to fast. So I always either use my debit card or use a visa gift card.

Card.com is a safe and easy way to give and send money.

You can use your Breast Cancer Awareness Debit Visa card anywhere Visa is accepted worldwide, and there are no overdraft fees, APR fees or penalty fees – regardless of your credit standing. Withdraw funds at thousands of ATMs, conveniently load money with Western Union, PayPal, bank transfers, MoneyPak, direct deposit of wages or federal benefits payments. Like a good friend, the card is always there when you need it, including 24/7/365 support and benefits like:

• No late fees
• No overdraft fees
• No check cashing fees
• Spending tracking
• Online bill pay

Your card gives you everything you need, with no minimum balance or bank history requirements, and your Breast Cancer Awareness Prepaid Debit Visa card is FDIC insured for the full balance on the card with zero liability protection – just like other credit products.

Card-Causes-Breast-Cancer-Awareness-3-VISA

I chose the Breast Cancer Awareness card, because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

According to Breastcancer.org, approximately 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer at some point in their lives. But this illness isn’t reserved just for women – in 2011, it was estimated that 2,140 men would be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, as well.

****I received a Breast Cancer awareness card to review. I love the design considering it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The card comes in the mail and after you activate it you can put money on your Card.com account, through your bank account, Paypal account and another Card.com account. You can even have the IRS deposit your refund to your card. It’s been so easy to use.

What I really don’t like about the card is that there are some of the fees. For Ex. There is a $5.95 monthly maintenance fee, if you don’t have a deposit of $800 or more.

I am giving away $25 Pre-paid Visa Breast Cancer Awareness Card.

*Because the card is FDIC insured you may be asked for your SS# when applying. It’s safe and secure though.

Disclosure: I was invited to a event to learn how to design with pictures. A gift card was provided for me to try it as well as a giveaway. All opinions are 100% my own.

This Holiday season I will be taking a ton of photos, between Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc. With all the pictures I will be taking I want to get them enlarged and framed, or put on canvas.
I have no designing skills at all, so I loved watching Genevieve Gorder show us a easy way to warm up your walls with pictures. How to organize them and make them mesh well together on the wall.

IMG_0727

I am not big on hanging pictures on my wall, just because I am renting and don’t like putting holes in the wall. I do have pictures on dressers, entertainment center etc. I love how east it is to set it up that way.

Besides canvas photos, HP also offers photo books and gifts available for pick up at Walmart. I had a photo book made just for my son. He loves seeing old cars and taking pics with them. So I took all those photos and put together a hard cover custom photo book. I even put a Cars 2 custom theme for the book.

I love this book, it actually looks like a real book. the pictures came out so good. My son swooned over this book and has been showing everyone how great it turn out.

I also made a canvas box photo of my husband and I, It was not very good resolution though.

IMG_0744

I can’t wait to add to my collection and have tons of pictures all over my house.

One Picture I can’t wait to make

Palmolive Soft Touch Soap Coconut Butter and Nail Polish GiveawayClosed #SP

Disclosure: No formal compensation was received for this post. A product was provided for my review.

As a stay at home mom, I don’t get out much to do beauty treatments. I haven’t had a professional manicure in years. I have so much going on at home cooking, cleaning and mainly doing the dishes. Palmolive’s soft touch soap line comes in colors that you can match up with nail polish.

It’s a great idea, when you are doing your dishes you can have perfect nails that match the soap you are using.

images

My latest soap is Coconut Butter which I will be using from now on. Not just because of the color but because it smells so good. The Coconut Butter soap is a soft white to pink color and the matching polish is a light light pink. When it’s on your nails it looks almost clear, making your nails shiny.

Photo on 9-20-13 at 7.29 PM

I am giving away soap and matching nail polish to two lucky readers.
You will get 3 colors of Palmolive Soft touch soap, with matching nail polishes.

To enter tell me what Palmolive Soft Touch you would use first.

Pepperidge Farm introduces Goldfish Puffs, Perfect For Snacks

Disclosure: No monetary compensation was received, a product was provided for my review.

School is back in session and that means that I have to have a lot of snacks on hand. The kids pack their lunches most days, have snack time at school and usually ask for a snack when they get home.

Their favorite snack is cheese crackers of course, they love Goldfish. We recently were able to try the new Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Puffs.

At first I thought they were going to be like the puffs for babies, just a bigger cracker. These looked like a chip kind of, or as my daughter say a Cheetos chip. They taste exactly like them too. A cheesy puff snack.

They have different flavors of the snacks:
Mega Cheese
Cheddar Bacon
Buffalo Wing

IMG_0662

IMG_0663

My favorite is the mega cheese, it is just the right amount of cheese and a perfect snack. My kids took a liking to the Cheddar Bacon and My daughter like the Buffalo Wings. These snacks do stick to your fingers so if you send them as a snack to school, make sure you pack some napkins.

What’s your favorite Goldfish snack?

Udi’s Has Brought The Fun Back For My Family #Allergy #SP #DairyFree

Disclosure: No compensation was received, products were provided for review. All opinions are my own.

Having allergies in my family is not fun at all, there are certain things my son and husband can’t eat. They have a dairy intolerance and have to miss out on almost all desserts and breads.

When we first found out we had milk intolerance, it was so hard everything had to change. I had to change our diets and the way I cook, we have to miss out on a lot of our favorite foods.

We were introduced to Udi’s food last year and I am being honest when I saw that it has changed our lives. My family can enjoy things like muffins, bagels, bread, and even cinnamon rolls without having to worry about milk. They are all Dairy free.

IMG_0699

when I opened the box, the muffins and cinnamon rolls were gone the same day. My kids and husband couldn’t get enough of them. The cinnamon rolls even come with a icing topping.

If you have a food allergy, whether it be dairy, nut, gluten etc. I suggest you try Udi’s.

Pirate Booty Is the PerFect Snack for Talk Like A Pirate Day

Disclosure: No monetary compensation was received, products were provided for my review.

Today is “Talk Like A Pirate Day”, my kids have been running around saying arrrr give me ur buried treasure. LOL! When I don’t have any they make me walk the plank.
I cave in and give them their booty Pirate Booty, and they are happy.

Pirate Booty is aged white cheddar made from rice and corn, blended with white cheddar and baked to perfection.

IMG_0664

IMG_0665

My kids just love this snack, we have been using them as snacks for school or in lunch boxes. They are the perfect size and aren’t to messy. I love that they come in easy packaging and are trans fat and gluten free. So I don’t need to worry about my daughters snack while at school.

Stock up for Halloween and pass them out to trick or treaters. The 20 pack is available at Target centers now until the end of October, In stores only.

Duracell Quantum Batteries Review and GiveawayClosed

Disclosure: No formal compensation was received, a product was provided for my review. All opinions are my own.

images-2

We go through batteries really fast in my house. We just use electronics that much, mainly the kids toys or video game systems etc.  We have rechargeable batteries but need regular batteries in between.

When I heard about Duracell Quantum, I really wanted to try them. They say that they last longer than any other alkaline battery.

  • Duracell Quantum, with its Hi-Density Core that stores more power than ever before, is the single solution for all household needs from remote controls to kid’s toys.
  • Duracell Quantum features PowerCheck on the battery cell so you will always know how much power is left in the battery – so nothing is wasted!

*** we have these batteries in the kids Leapfrog handheld games, which go through batteries the fastest, to see how long they will last. So far day one is going good. So far one of my favorite features about the battery is the power check. I never know how much life is left in a battery and I hate throwing it out not knowing. So being able to see just how much life is left on a battery is a big plus. My daughters favorite feature is that they are the color red.

Duracell donated 1 million of these powerful batteries to first responders across the country to help protect our families. Yes, you read that right 1 million!

One of my readers will win a 20 pack of AA Duracell Quantum batteries.

Just watch the video and leave me a comment on your thoughts. (video is very emotional and sweet, you might cry).
