Chldren’s Book: Dub’s Goes To Washington

Dick Morris, Bill Clinton’s right hand man and one of the most prominent American political consultants, and his wife Eileen Morris, who together have penned nine NYT best sellers, have newly “unleashed” Dubs Goes to Washington…and Discovers the Greatness of America.  The star of the book is the Morris’ real-life Golden Retriever, Dubs.  As young readers help the furry hero look for his lost tennis ball in the nation’s capital, they discover some of the people, places and events that make America such an exceptional nation.

*** My daughter loved this book, just reading this book she learned so much about Washington. The monuments and what they stand for, From the Lincoln Memorial to the Martin Luther King Memorial.   It’s all through Dubs eyes that make it so exciting.  To me, there are a lot of things going wrong in our country, like the economy, being in so much debt etc. The Washington monuments are all historical and have nothing to do with the here and now, so I think they are still great to visit. We hope to someday visit Washington.

Purex Triple Action UltraPacks Review

In February 2012 Purex will be introducing a new products to stores. Purex Triple Action UltraPacks,a easier more convienant way to do laundry.

Here some info on the new UltraPacks:

  • Convenient pre-dosed liquid detergent packs that make doing laundry easier.
  •  All the performance of the new triple action liquid formula into just one powerful pack.
  • No more mess, Nomore spills, no more heavy jugs, it’s laundry simplified
  • Each UltraPack has 2x concentrated liquid detergent, giving each UltraPack double the cleaning power in every drop.
  • UltraPacks dissolve quickly once the washer is started-even in cold water.
  • Safe for all machines including HE machines.

**** I was a little skeptical to use these when I first received them, because every time I had used a gel pack thing in my washer, It always leaves a sticky residue on my clothes from the pack.  The Purex UltraPacks didn’t leave any residue, they are a lot thinner and dissolve easily.  I love that I don’t have to worry about measuring liquid and a mess. It comes in Mountain breeze and of course my favorite Free and Clear.

Starting in mid February Free Sample Purex website will be back up, offering free samples.  so be on the lookout for it at www.freesamplepurex.com.

Purex Triple Action Review

Purex is rolling out a new Triple Action formula across the entire liquid detergent line. This new formula promises to leave your clothes bright, white, and clean.

**** I always love Purex they offer the Free and Clear on all there different detergents. I always close free and clear because my family has sensitive skin and it always works. With the new Triple Action, I’ve noticed my clothes becoming cleaner than before. That can be really tough too, since i have 3 little ones who get stains on their clothes all the time. I do pretreat ahead of time though, with a little of the Purex detergent. One thing I really love about Purex is it is a great detergent to use, without having to spend $10 or more dollars.

Holiday Gift Guide: Leapfrog LeapPad Explorer

Leapfrog’s Leappad is a learning tablet just for kids. With a built-in camera, and a library of 100+ cartridge games and activities*, the durable LeapPad features innovative apps that inspire creativity and turn reading into fun and games. It’s a new way to learn, a new way to play – a new way to unlock your child’s potential!

It is the #1 selling kids electronic this Christmas season selling out nationwide.

When I first received this, I immediately fell in love with it. If I didn’t have to fight my son for it I would keep it myself. I don’t own a iPad so this was totally new to me. One of my favorite games I played with my son was the train game. You have to fix the tracks the right way to make sure the train goes the right way.

The camera is a fun feature, but my kids have been using it way to much. They walk around just snapping pictures of everything and making them their own with features. I took a picture of my son and then we started having fun with it. We moved to his nose to make it a long point.

Now the only problem I have is I have one Leappad and 3 kids, even though we do have 2 Leapster Explorers. The Leappad is so much more cooler than a Leapster according to my daughter.

Holiday Gift Guide: Barbie A Perfect Christmas

Join Barbie and her sisters Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea  as their holiday vacation plans turn into a most unexpected adventure and heartwarming lesson. After a snowstorm diverts their plane, the girls find themselves far from their New York destination and their holiday dreams. Now stranded at a remote inn in the tiny town of Tannenbaum, the sisters are welcomed by new friends and magical experiences. In appreciation for the wonderful hospitality they receive, they use their musical talents to put on a performance for the whole town. Barbie and her sisters realize the joy of being together is what really makes A Perfect Christmas.

****This Barbie movie is a lot different than all of the other Barbie movies. First the movie features all of Barbie’s sisters. Even though I know she has more than that. Baby sister Kelly?  The voice of Barbie is not the same and she even looks different in this movie. She looks like a adult in this movie, and is even kind of a mother figure in the movie.  Besides all that the movie was a very good, teaching the kids that Christmas is all about family rather than just toys.   I wouldn’t say this was my favorite Barbie movie so far, but my kids enjoyed it.

The next Barbie movie lined up for Spring is Barbie In A Mermaid Tale part 2, we loved the first one so I hope this one is good.

Kung Fu Panda 2 DVD Review

Jack Black is back as Po in DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 2, the hilarious and action-packed “winning sequel” to the Academy Award-nominated original film. In Kung Fu Panda 2, Po and the Furious Five set off on his first big challenge since becoming the Dragon Warrior. When his new evil nemesis has taken down the legendary three kung fu masters, Po is the only one left who can save China, save kung fu, and save the bunnies! You’ll laugh out loud as you watch Po try to find his way, and be on the edge of your seat as he fights the most epic kung fu battle ever.

**** We loved this movie. Po is set to fight a new bad guy when we remembers that this was the guy who was there when his parents abandoned him. So he sets off to defeat this peacock but find answers at the same time. I would have to say this is actually on of the best sequels I have seen in a long time. It actually is a continuing story from the first movie. At the end you see Po’s birth father saying my son is alive, so there might be a part 3. This is a really good movie for adults and kids.

Holiday Gift Guide: Scholastic Books

If there is one gift I love buying, it is books. They are educational and not sprawled all over my floor. My daughter brings home a Scholastic Book Club order every month and we choose books to order every month.

This month for our Christmas gifts we have ordered

My kids love character books mainly, and La La Loopsy is the newest character book added to our collection.  Most of the books I get from Scholastic are free, and it’s not from product reviews. Selected boxes of Kelloggs cereal have codes on them for Free Scholastic books.

** These books are so great, My kids get just as much enjoyment out of reading these books as they do watching the shows.  most book are 32 pages or less, so they are easy readers.   These make great stocking stuffers or gifts and are all under $10.   The greatest thing about ordering books from Scholastic is when you order online, your child’s class gets a free book.

Books retail for $1.00 or higher
