Remember Rainbow Brite, I use to love her. I loved her multi-colored outfit and her magical world. She kind of faded away when I was a teenager. Now she is back, so you can introduce her to your children.

Natonal Salt Reduction Initiative and Heart Health Month

February is heart health month. It’s very important to me to have a healthy heart, heart disease runs in my family. Both my parents had stints put in, and my grandmother passed from having a bad heart.

Reducing salt and sodium intake is a start. Here are ten tips

  1. Choose fresh, unprocessed or fresh, frozen foods
  2. Read food labels for sodium content
  3. Choose foods with less than 200mg of sodium per serving
  4. Consume pre-prepared foods that are “low in sodium” or “no added sodium”
  5. Limit processed foods such as canned or dried soups, canned vegetables, frozen dinners, “instant” foods and flavored rice/pasta packages
  6. Use less sodium at the table and in cooking
  7. Use no-sodium or low-sodium seasonings
  8. Flavor food with lemon juice, fresh garlic, spices, herbs and flavored vinegar
  9. Use only small amounts of condiments, like pickles, sauces, olives, etc.
  10. Ask for less salt or sodium to be added to your food when eating in restaurants

****I have to admit when I first saw the picture I thought it was going to be a lot bigger. It’s very small and efficient.  Great for cleaning up small messes, or the car. when i first received this my kids were so scared, they thought it was a gun. They ran around the house screaming. The Dysn DC31 is a great little vacuum, and has a lot of suction power. I’ve been using it on everything! 

I made a video using it, but it never fails to have my kids screaming in te background.

****This is so easy to use and not messy. It takes a while for it to warm up, but brews easily and fast. You can brew coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and so much more. Just fill up the water resivore, warm it up, place in a kcup and boom you have a single cup of coffee. My hubby drinks coffee every morning but makes way to much. and it gets poured down the drain, so this is a great option to save money and waste less.

 I received these today and I was so surprised at how many flavors and brands of K cups there are. You can never go bored with the variety. They are all so delicious.

**** My kids have never seen Wallace and Gromit, So they didn’t know what to expect. They liked this movie, but kept asking why no one talks. Just noises?  I didn’t really have an answer, just that they don’t talk. My daughters favorite part was when the dog and the Farmers Niece were fighting over a ball and the girl started crying.  My kids also liked the sing a long.

*****This scale is very cute, not like regualr bath scales. It has a glass top, and touch screen design. The scale is very heavy, at least 6 or 7 lbs.  When I first used it, it would give me different readouts. It told me 160, then 158,148, and 153. It finally settled on 153. I’m kindof happy i was able to now my weight. I know I need to lose weight now, i’ve haven’t weighed this much since I was pregnant.

****Yo Gabba Gabba is the most educational show i’ve ever seen. I love the songs the sing for daily routines. We use them at our house.  Try it you’ll like it, and put the toys away. My children loved the birthday episode, fun new songs and counting with Brobee. This is a great show for any preschooler.
