Survivor Castaways Kaoh Rong is Getting Exciting

I just started getting into the Survivor series, and it is drama, excitement, suspense and so much more. Survivor Castaways is in it’s second week and I can’t wait for the next episode.

Castaways embark on the most grueling 39 days in Survivor history and test whether brute strength, looks or smarts will be the attribute that helps capture the title of Sole Survivor. Episodes so far have dealt with a castaway in pain from a bug stuck in his ear, to a all girl alliance and shocking elimination.

This is my first time watching Survivor with my family, but it’s really exciting and brings a lot of adrenaline. You never know what is going to happen on the series. It’s bringing us all together Wednesday nights. My kids have said that it’s fun to see what happens between alliances, friendships, sometimes even romances.

Survivor Castaways Koah Rong airs every Wednesday at 8PM EST on CBS.

Shopkins Season 5 is Coming and Season 6

Toy Fair this year was everything it needed to be. While I was not there personally, I had someone attend for me and give me all the info.

Moose Toys revealed way more than I ever thought they would. They tend to be secretive with whats coming out.

Low and behold Shopkins Season 5 will be coming out in May/June of this year. But if my local store owner is correct the release date is more towards May 15th. No signs of whats to come or what categories will be apart of Shopkins Season 5 yet.

Here’s a biggie, they also had a case for Shopkins Season 6. Can you believe it already? The mystery surrounding season 6 is that it says there are only 86 to collect, when all the seasons have been over 140 to collect.

We are big Shopkins fans, and collet them. We can’t wait to see what these next seasons hold and share them with you.

There was also a preview of some new Shoppies dolls, but I am going to hold off on those because I don’t think they are really ready for debut yet.

Plus new Fashion spree and Food fair sets, stay tuned.

I am Not You or Them

As a mom I have come along a lot of struggles in my life. I have many questions I have had answered and just life in general has been hard. As a child I had a horrific accident that would forever change my life and perspective. I keep having to tell myself overtime I get jealous of someone else life or success. I am not you or them, I am myself I have my own life and it can’t be compared to others.

Raising kids can be hard specially on a budget or without any help. Overtime I did seek help or made a excuse for something I was always met with ” So so can do this while raising a child, So so went to college. The only thing I want to do is scream in their face I am not you or them, I am me.
Just because a single mother who lives down the street can find a job no problem, doesn’t mean I will. We are different people, different skills. I am a bit shy, she is not.

Now that my kids are older and I am actively looking looking for a job as well as a career goal, I am once again met with this fate. Well your neighbor has found a job and the girl down the street has a career. Just because someone else has something doesn’t mean it’s just that easy for the next person.

Every person is different. Different skills, body language, and personalities.

*** I wrote this as a reminder to people that not everyone has the same opportunities and instead of comparing them to others you should just encourage them to keep trying.

Stop and Shop sent me a box of chocolates to get a sneak peek of what they had to offer for Valentines Day. The Russel Stovers box of chocolates was perfect packed and the chocolate was delicious. None of the pieces got passed up even my kids shared the box with me.

They have amazing gifts for the kids too, from small boxes of chocolates to character themed activities. I even saw a box containing big Shopkins plush.

Apps and Devices To Monitor Teen Driving

I am only a few years away from having a teen driver and I dread it everyday. I don’t want my kids to grow up, but not only that there are to many distractions everywhere. My daughter loves her texts and games on electronics, I can only imagine whats going to happen once she starts driving.

With so many new smart devices there are to many distractions on the road. Now you can monitor your teens driving with these apps.

  • Star Driver which is part of the Allstate’s Star Driver program. The app collects data about driving speed, time of day, hard braking events and driving routes.
  • Teen Driver by General Motors: technology that enables cars to give teen drivers visual and audible warnings when they exceed speeds preset by parents
  • Snapshot by Progressive: The Snapshot device isn’t specifically marketed for teens, but Progressive says it can improve teen driving habits.
  • Sprint Drive First: People who call or send text messages will get an automatic reply that the driver isn’t available.
  • On Board Safe Driver: Free for AAA members, OnBoard Teen Safe Driver allows parents to create alerts to notify them when teens arrive or depart from locations such as school or work. 

    In addition to these apps, be sure to talk with your teens and set ground rules that make them and you feel safe. My one rule when I started driving was no friends in the car and no phone. To big of a distraction. Also if I received a ticket or was in a wreck, my car was to be taken away.

Beat the Winter Blues With Nintendo

We have been stuck in the house for days and school has been canceled,my kids have been going stir crazy and hate the snow. So to beat the Winter Blues I introduced the kids to some new Nintendo games for the 3DS.

Mario and Luigi Paper Jam:

When Luigi accidentally opens a mysterious book hidden away in Peach’s Castle, he gets more than he bargained for when characters from the Paper Mario universe spill out of the pages and start running amok. Players must take control of the terrific trio of Mario, Luigi and Paper Mario to defeat Bowser and Paper Bowser and bring the Paper Mario characters back to their original world.

Maro and Luigi’s Paper Jam is a fun game featuring the original characters. They go from level to level trying to collect all the paper characters and put them back in the book. The game does have a lot of talking from the characters which can take a while to get from level to level, but still fun.

Yo-kai Watch:

The popular Japanese sensation YO-KAI WATCH has come to the United States with hundreds of cute, spooky and mischievous Yo-Kai (physical beings that inhabit the world and represent different personalities and fears). Explore the world to find Yo-Kai, befriend them and turn them into a team to battle other Yo-Kai

Yo-Kai Watch is a monster catching game and while it looks a lot like Pokemon, but it is very different. I am not any good at these games when it comes to catching and battling. It was struggle for me. My kids were trying to show me how to play and I am slowly starting to understand the game more. It has been interesting. After a few levels the game became more interesting as you need find healing items and game money. You will love the mini games and hunting down all the fun Yo-kai with their own personalities.

Snowed in or having the winter blues, you can find both of these games retail for around $39 for Mario and Luigi Paper Jam and Yo-Kai Watch.

Our first adventure using it was for the big game this past weekend. We used it for our Cheese display with pretzels and chips. My kids just loved, and was the perfect set up for our snacks.

I have been using it now to make chocolate dipped everything. I am getting ready for Valentines day. I made Dairy Free chocolate and dipped strawberries, marshmallows, bananas, and pretzels.

Making the chocolate sauce is easy.
You just need coconut milk
and dairy free chocolate chips (I use enjoy life)
Heat on stove until melted, and transfer to Zen Fondue set and you can dip.
