****When I was first pitched about the Newborn Fur Real Friend I thought it was going to be big, like most Fur Real Friends. I had never seen them before, when it arrived I fell in love. These friends are so tiny and small, they coo and make other sounds. I seriously considered keeping this from having  my kids, but I had to share it with them. My son is attached to it and won’t let it go. It’s his baby doll without the girlyness.

We live in a wealthy neighborhood(we are not), and my daughters school is one of the top rated elemenatry schools here in Long Island. I receive letters at least twice a week for some kind of donation. The first two weeks of school we had 6 fundraisers, it was crazy.

I found A Store Doing Something illegal

I live  in Huntington NY, right outside the village. Every year the village has a Safe Trick or Treat program, where all the merchants in the village hand out out candy. My kids and I walk into a store and see………

Now before I tell you let me just say that I  have worked several Retail jobs and know this is illegal, and my mom worked at Toys R Us for 14 years and has said they got in trouble for doing this.

I will not name the store but I found this

Yes that is Toy story 3 on a shelf for sale before the official release date of November 2, 2010. If this store gets caught before Tuesday, it’s like a 20,000 dollar fine or something.

Tips For A Healthy Halloween

Nutritionist and registered dietician Mary Gocke from the Center for Health and Healing in New York warns against feeding kids too much candy as overconsumption of sugar can lead to decreased immune function, mood swings, anxiety, depression and fatigue.

Tips:

  • Have a Big Dinner – make sure your kids have a healthy dinner before going out trick or treating, being full means they’ll be less likely to gorge on candy later that night.
  • keep tasty treats such as almonds and string cheese handy will trick or treating and make sure your kids snack on these low-glycemic foods throughout the night, it’ll help lower their blood sugar.
  •  Drink water – water not only helps wash away the sugar from the teeth, helping kids avoid cavities, but it also helps combat blood sugar levels.
  • Avoid sticky candies – these sweets linger longer on your teeth and increases the risk for cavities.
  • Try these instead! –  plain chocolate bars (especially if they contain at least 65% cocoa), Sweet Tarts, Smarties and Pixy Sticks are better for your teeth.

I received the birthday flower cake for review. When this first arrived my kids thought it was a actual cake and wanted to eat it! LOL       This flower cake is beautiful and the perfect gift for the women in your life.  It has three candles on top and for me almost lasted a whole month without wilting.
