saving money during the holidays

I’m not an expert, but I like to try and save money around the holidays. It’s so hard though because there are so many deals and hot items.

1. ask yourself do i really need/want it. When you see a great bargain your impulse is to buy it, but most people just return it, it was something they didn’t need.

2. shop clearance-I shop the clearance section everytime i go to the store. Amazing deals, and you can put it away for the holidays.

3. Thrift stores- A lot of people don’t like shopping at thrift stores but you can find some amazing deals there. Including gently used clothes, toys, books and more.

The best time tip I can give you is to do everything early. I shop for christmas all year long because I know around Christmas time we are usually broke.   It’s not even december and our tree is up!

Another saving tip: if you are in the market for a real tree go to lowes or home depot, the are cheaper than a tree farm.

Ther are some great sites for helping save money. One of them is www.CouponChief.com , they have over 40k coupns for 8000 stores. It’s definitly a great way to save money.

 www.ToyInfo.org-provides you with all the information you need to choose the right toys for your family. From toy safety facts to free downloadable play guides, this exciting new site is a one-stop resource for caregivers and parents to discover everything about toys and play.

 They features videos, free downloadable play guides, recall and safety information and discussion boards. Plus keep checking back because they will be starting a roundtable discussion with toy exerts +moms.

 www.ToyAwards.org– lists the best toys of the year, as selected by toy industry experts. The site showcases the top toys nominated for the 2010 Toy of the Year Awards (TOTY), recognized as the “Oscars®” of the toy industry. Not only will you discover which toys the experts think are best, but for the first time, kids and parents can register for one (or more) of 12 prize packages, and can also vote for their favorite toys.

This showcases 81 of the top  toys, that have been nominated for the 2010 toy of the year award. The site features free downloadable gift shopping list which parents can use to help choose the most desirable gifts.

These sites are so helpful and informative.  the greatest site i’ve seen in a while for helping to choose gifts.  I have so much trouble choosing gifts, since my kids are so young. I usually choose toys that are not in their age group. Now I have help for choosing the safest, but fun toy. I will definitly be using these sites to help with my christmas shopping this year.

This movie shows the importance of family, which i really liked.  this movie taught my kids that all family are different. I love when movies have a great meaning behind it!

***This movie is so adorable, the dogs talk in the movie. My daughter asked can dogs talk, and I said Santa is magic and only his dogs can talk! This movie is Full of holiday cheer and includes Santa, Elves, all your buddies, and so much more.  This movie is geared more towards Children. My children really enjoyed this film! There favorite was the sing a longs with the dogs.This would be a great holiday gift for anyone.
