Every Easter we like to have a nice family meal together and just have a great time.   We start the day off with the kids finding their Easter Baskets, and then we just have a nice relaxing day. When dinner rolls around we like to do something that we normally don’t eat.

We usually Settle on a Ham, with all the trimmings.  My kids won’t eat very much and I hate being stuck with leftovers that will last for days.  So every year we go with  a Hormel Cure 81 Ham. They come in smaller sizes and are already fully cooked, you just need to heat and eat.

It makes dinner so simple and easy.  You can put it on a platter and cut to serve or just peel off the slices. The ham does come pre-sliced.  Plus with leftovers you can always make ham and eggs in the morning.

Easter Fun: Monster High Dolls Basket Ideas #MonsterHigh

Disclosure: No compensation was received for this post at all. Products were bought by me.

Monster High is one of the biggest selling doll collections in the last year. We didn’t get into the fad the first year so we missed out on a lot of fun original dolls. I thought they were kind of weird and wanted to stick with happy pink Barbie, but after while Monster High’s message got out. It’s okay to be different and fabulous.

My daunters started playing with Monster High and it’s now their favorite toy.
I have learned the hard way now that dolls are so hard to find, and if you can find them it’s usually on Ebay for 3 times the retail price.

You can find the Jackson Jekyll 2 pack at Toys R Us.

You can find Slo Mo on Toys R Us Or Walmart.

Zarbee’s Naturals For Your Seasonal Congestion

Disclosure: “I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Zarbee’s Naturals. I received a promotional item and a product sample as a thank you for participating.”

Every year around spring time we go through the sniffles, sneezing, headaches. It’s the worst, specially for my kids. I send them to school and then everyone thinks they are sick, even though it is just congestion from the season.

We have tried multiple products to help with seasonal congestion, but most products make my kids drowsy. You can’t send them to school when they are drowsy, thats for sure.

I was recently introduced to Zarbee’s Naturals for seasonal relief. Although my kids are still a bit to young to take it. It’s intended for children 12 years and older. It’s been a great solution for seasonal relief for my husband and I.

Some great info about Zarbees:

  • Physician developed and recommended
  • No side affects
  •  Made with natural Butterbur to help combat congestion
  • Free of drugs, gluten, dyes and alcohol

To help people breathe easier, Zarbee’s has launched the Seasonal Relief Project.  The project is designed to help you get wellness tips, educational information and even request free samples to try yourself.

Right now when you sign up for the Seasonal Relief Project Website, Zarbee’s will donate to 1 of 4 causes promoting exposure and protection of fresh air.   Plus you can get a $3 off coupon exclusively to buy Zarbee’s at CVS.

Zarbee’s Naturals can be bought over the counter t Target and CVS. Please remember that this product is intended for adults and children ages 12 and up.

Common Core math Testing

We are on Spring break right now, but as soon as we go back to school on Monday my 3rd grader will begin preparing for the Math testing required for 3rd graders. I know a lot of people have been opting out, but I decided to leave it up to her. She wanted to do the testing.

The language arts test went okay, and they were rewarded by the teachers after with ice pops.
My biggest concern is going to be the math testing, because most of the homework can be confusing for even me.
My 3rd grader has even said that her teacher told her she didn’t learn it until 5th grade.

I think they need to stop making testing required for those that didn’t learn it beforehand. For example. They started common core this year, so everything they have learned up until nowise changing.
Why not start it in Kindergarten and then go from there.
When I was in High school (12 years ago) they started requiring high school students to pass certain tests to graduate. That bombed as so many kids failed and skipped school. So they put it off a couple years. Thank goodness, or I wouldn’t of graduated.

Anyways

I am very nervous about this Math testing, so I have been preparing her at home with some reviews the teacher has given and some great apps. I have found.

Easter Fun: Welch’s Easter Fruit Snacks

Disclosure: no formal compensation was received for this post. A sample was provided for review. All opinions are 100% my own.

For a limited time Welch’s fruit snacks are having their fruit snacks in the shapes of fun easter characters, Bunnies, chicks, eggs and more.

My kids love the occasional fruit snack, I would actually much rather them have a fruit snack then candy. They are small and convenient and can be packed for lunches and snacks at school. My kids love picking up the ones that are different shapes, they like to point them out and compare.
