Clorox Ick-tionary: This One Is For The Ladies, Dye-Saster

I am being compensated by The Clorox Company to share a new language about messes for the Clorox Ick-tionary

I have teamed up with Clorox to help create words for their new Icktionary campaign. You can visit www.icktionary.com for hilarious words and situations that any Clorox product will clean.

I am now on my second word for the Clorox Ick-tionary campaign. It has been a blast putting these words together.

My second word I came up with is one for the ladies. It has to do with coloring your own hair, which I know everyone does at one point or another. The word and definition are:

Dye-Saster- Getting dye all over the bathroom when trying to dye your own hair.

 photo dye_zps56644215.jpg

This has happen to me on numerous occasions, I attempt to dye my own hair and end up getting the dye everywhere. The sad part is I think I am doing fine, I only have the dye on my hair and then when I am done I look around and there is a little on the counter, floor etc.  It can get really bad in my white bathroom.

Since it is permenent hair dye, it doesn’t come out with water and a rag.  Clorox bleach does the job, the wipes and spray have helped get it up and keep my bathroom clean.

Have you ever made a mess with Hair Dye trying to dye your own hair? Visit www.icktionary.com to find more words and funny scenarios.

Firestone Did a Awesome Job

This is not a compensated post. I am just sharing my experience.

I am always worried going to get work done on my car, I am afraid I will get ripped off. I have before. As a teen, I went to get a tune up on my first car, and when I got home my brother informed me a full tune up was not done.

Since then I try and always have a man with me, when i go. Even all 3 of my kids hoping that I won’t get stooped into something.

Now that my car is getting old, I have had it for 8 years now, and we just reached over 100,000 miles it’s time to get some work done.

The tread on our tires was horrible. We did the penny test and you could see almost the whole head of Abe Lincoln.  WE decided to get new tires, It’s been about 5 years since we had our tires replaced.Plus considering getting stuck in Nemo this year and having to burn rubber a little just to get up a hill, a few times. We spent 6 hours trying to go a 4 mile distance up and down hill. We eventually just abandoned the car and walked the rest of the way. I am sure it really screwed up my tires though.

I researched for two days before I found a great deal at Firestone Complete Auto Care. They had the Firestone Affinity Touring tires for buy 3 get 1 free.   Thats a great deal!

Unfortunately, For us after getting the tires installed we found out we need a few other things done. So I will be going back in a few months to get the rest of the work done. I can’t complain though, it cheaper than buying a new car.

I was very impressed by the people at Firestone they explained everything that they saw wrong or needs work. Installed the tires and even gave a me a phone call when the car was done ( I walked to the mall, with my kids).

Our new tires!!

Getting Out And Having Fun

This post is not sponsored in any way, just want to share some of my favorite places.

Living In Long Island there is just so much to do. New York City is only a hour train ride away. There are tons of beaches on the North Shore and South Shore. I prefer the North Shore, it’s has more rocks, and the sand is rockier, but I don’t have to worry about the waves being to high for the kids. The waves are actually very small and I don’t have to worry about the kids getting swept out by a big wave.

Here they usually charge per car to get into beaches and state parks. It’s anywhere between $8-$10 per car to get in. So instead of having to pay every single time, we opted for the Empire Passport. It’s only $65 and you can get into any NY state park that accepts it.

Two of my favorite parks are Sunken Meadow, which is here on the North Shore. It has everything, a beach, hiking, golfing, playgrounds, grills, and picnic tables for BBQ’s and so much more.

My other favorite park is Caumsett State Park. It was once a private residence but now a beautiful park. It’s settled ona penninsula in Long Island Sound, and has tons of historic buildings, a equestrian center, and miles of trials, gardens, biking etc.
They have a 3 mile loop that is all paved and is great for exercise.

ONe of the downsides this year to the parks, are a lot of them are not fully open, they are still cleaning up after Hurricane Sandy.

What are your plans this summer any parks that are your favorite.

I attended with my family and they have so many exciting and fun things for kids to do.   They had family Zumba, Mad Science, a petting zoo, and so much more. It is mainly to make you aware of the programs the YMCA offers and why you should join.  We came home with literally a case full of information, along with goodies for the kids.

I think my kids favorite part was the Fire Truck they had for kids to look at. They allowed the kids inside, they got to try on the jacket and hat, and even got to spray the hose.

Finding The Best Price For Your Diamonds

This is a sponsored post.

Unknown-1

When I really need cash, I sell some of my jewelry. The truth is I don’t wear a lot of jewelry and it just sits in a box. Unless it has a lot of sentimental value, there is no reason for me to store it. So why not just sell it and get a good amount of money for it.

With my rings and other jewelry my problem is I never know how much the diamonds are worth.www.diamondvaluation.com has helped me find out a good price for my diamonds and they can even sell them through the site. You can sell from anywhere worldwide.

What I love about this site is they offer better prices than most traditional outlets, and you never have to leave your house. everything is done online, and there is no need to leave the house.

On the site all you have to do is enter all your information about your diamond ring, jewelry, or loose diamonds. Then a rep will call you and verify. It’s that easy, you will get top dollar for your jewelry.

Have you ever sold your diamonds? Or even just wanted to know how much they are worth?

Top Three Reasons To Invest In A New Ice Machine Before Summer Arrives

Guest post by Beth W

If your business serves up hundreds of cold drinks per day, you need a reliable and productive ice machine. Investing in a new appliance before the summer season begins will help you prepare for the rush of thirsty visitors looking for their favorite drinks with fresh, clean ice to keep them cool.

1. Handling Demand

The worst thing that could happen on a hot summer day would be an icemaker malfunction at your moment of peak demand. Small or older appliances often struggle to keep producing ice at a fast pace when demand spikes. A large and powerful icemaker from Culinary Depot will keep drinks moving out as soon as your workers can fill the cups. When the heat waves come, you don’t want to be using appliances that are obsolete and about to fail. Make sure to purchase a unit that will handle the amount of customers your business serves.

2. Easy To Clean

It is crucial to disinfect and clean the ice maker on a regular basis to prevent bacterial colonies from settling in and making guests ill. Many older models are full of nooks and crannies that make thorough cleaning a pain. You need to look for a new model that is designed for quick disinfection so your employees can spend less time cleaning and more time serving customers. Models with convenient bottom drains can speed up rinsing while ensuring no disinfectant or cleaning product remains in the tank to contaminate the ice.

3. Higher Efficiency
Spend less on your business expenses by investing in a quality icemaker that can produce pounds of ice per hour without using a lot of electricity. Extra insulation will keep ice frozen and ready to use while softening the noise that older commercial appliances usually produce during operation.

Clorox’s New Ick-tionary

Unknown

I am being compensated by The Clorox Company to share a new language about messes for the Clorox  Ick-tionary.

I have teamed up with Clorox to help create words for their new Icktionary campaign.    You can visit www.icktionary.com for hilarious words and situations that any Clorox product will clean.

So over the next 4 months I will be bringing you the words and definitions that  I have contributed to the Clorox Icktionary. The words that I have chose are things that I am sure happens in every household. Most of them are things your kids do that disgust you. Luckily they can be clean and sanitized with Clorox.

My first word is….

Wonder Mark: the definition is when when you find a brown stain on kids’ clothes and have to wonder if it’s poop, chocolate or marker.

This is actually my favorite, because when my kids were younger this happened all the time. I would see a brown stain on my kids clothes or hands etc. and I always dreaded having to find out what it was, but as a parent you have to take that chance.

Luckily for me ost of the time it was Chocolate which was easy to get out by throwing it in with the whites and clorox. There have been a few times when I’ve seen a brown mark on the wall, like in the bathroom. I didn’t even want to chance it, I just used Clorox wipe to clean it up.

IMG_0289

Trust me though like most moms, I have been in the situation where I regretted finding out what the brown stain was.

Tell me about a time where you had to take the plunge and figure out what that stain was?  You can visit www.icktionary.com and see all the words, plus add your own.

McDonalds New McWrap Is so good.

I have not eaten at a McDonald’s in over 8 months. Honestly, I loved the Big N Tasty! Unfortunately they did away with it.

So when I was approached by McDonald’s to try there new McWraps, I decided why not.   I never get to treat myself to lunch, so I took the plunge. LOL!

IMG_0270

I tried the Chicken and Ranch McWrap, which features ranch sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, cheddar jack cheese, sliced cucumbers, and tomato.

IMG_0271

** It was actually really good, Like a chicken salad wrapped in a tortilla. I could eat it everyday for lunch. The only thing is I wish it would of had a bit more chicken it it. I think i counted 3 strips, and it seemed the middle was nothing but cucumber and tomato.
