I Hope To Someday Have A Real Wedding

Yes I am married and have been for 6 years. The reason for the title, well my wedding secret.

In 2004 after dating on and off my boyfriend and I decided we needed to live together if we were going to make it work. He was in the Army and we lived in different states. So I moved to Colorado, We were flat broke and didn’t have any or anything. We decided to get married, there was no proposing, no ring, we mutually agreed.

Off to Walmart to buy cheap gold bands and then t o the courthouse. We were married in front of a judge with no witness. No flowers, no Wedding Dress( I wore a black prom dress), no honeymoon, nothing, just us in a plain court room

We didn’t tell our family we were married. My husband told his parents after a couple weeks, and I told mine after like 5 months. See I was 19 at the time and my mom hated that my brother eloped, so I didn’t have the heart to tell her. Plus she would of never let me do it.  I finally told her and she was so crushed, I hated myself.

So I have one small token of that night a single picture, well besides thats the night that I became pregnant but thats a different story. LOL

(No I am not pregnant in this picture, the dress is just makes me look fat.

I want the beautiful pictures and family and memories with a real wedding, someday.

****I love being able to share movies I grew up watching with my children. When I first played this movie a few years ago on VHS, my kids were not interested at all. Now that they are a little older they can actually sit through it, although I don’t think my kids really understand what Fantasia is all about, but they loved the colors and music. There favorite part was Mickey playing with the wizards magic.  Watching the bonus features made me appreciate this movie more, hearing the commentaries and Walt’s inspiration. This movie truly is inspirational and I think one of Disney’s best movies ever.

Black Friday Shopping

I was one of those people sneaking out while hubby and kids are sound asleep. Waiting in long lines, watching people argue and fight, and yes some people did.

I went to my 24 hr Wal-Mart at 11:30 and while it was really busy, most people were holding spots in line for the 5:00 electronics. At midnight they pulled the boxes off, and people just went crazy. I wasn’t at all interested in electronics or toys. I bought 9 sets of pajamas at $4 each, kids slippers at $3.50, thermal shirts and hoodie sweatshirts at $4.00, girls leggings $5, plus floss, cereal, and hangers. Total $83.69 savings $94.00

Next I went to Target, and well Target didn’t open til 4 so I waited around for a while, I spent 2 hours in the cold rain. If I didn’t though i’d still be waiting to get in. My main reason for going Hello Kitty Pajama’s and slippers for $5.00 each. Glad I waited around too, they only had 6 in stock. I also bought Alice in Wonderland dvd $10.00, and Disney Cars 9 car gift set $19.99.  Total 47.77  total savings: 36.98

Next I went to Kmart, I only had to wait like 5 minutes since it opened at 5. (By the way there were like 50 people at Kmart, that’s it.) I bought 10 pack hot wheels cars $5.00, 6 ft Appalachian christmas tree $19.99, Barbie Thumbelina movie $3.99, Kodak combo pack ink, Character infant sets $8.99, Character shoes $8.99, Schick Intuition cartridges, Cars pillow $7.99, Cars room makeover trunk, $14.99, Tinkerbell outfit $10.19, Barbie outfit $11.39, and some scrubbing pad Total $155.42      Total savings$96.40

So I think I did pretty good total savings of $227.38

What I am Thankful For

I am thankful to have a wonderful family

My husbnad Jack is a wonderful man

We have our ups and downs, but we’ve been through it all

We’ve been together 8 years married for six and half years.

We’ve survived 2 deployments to Iraq, a seperation, 4 years of college, and now we will endure 5 years of Grad school.

I am also very very Thankful for my beautiful and wonderful children.

I was told when I was a child after a horrific car accident that I would not be able to have children. Well I have 3 now and I am so thankful, all my life I thought that my life would never be complete and now it is.

Happy Thanksgiving

What are you Thankful for?
