I think this is great. I mean I’ll admit i’m a little insecure. I’m 25 a little overweight and have acne. at the same time though I’ve had 3 kids in less than 3 years, so this is just the way i am. I think that Nastia encouraging girls to be more self confident is a great idea. Young girls really need it.

5 Lessons Every Kid should Learn

Here are my top 5 lessons I think every kid should learn.

  1. Respect-every child should learn respect or else you will have a lot of problems in the future.
  2. You should be thankful for what you have- my kids are always oh mommy i want that on every toy commercial. It’s important to teach kids that toys and clothes aren’t everything, be thankful for what you have.
  3. Don’t talk to strangers-unfortunately my kids talk to everyone, they are not shy at all. I think it’s important for kids to learn that not everyone is friendly and to only talk to those you know.
  4. look before you cross the street-there are crazy drivers out there, and what i’ve learned living in NY is that you are not even safe crossing in a crosswalk. it’s important for kids to know that they should always look both ways no matter what.
  5. Come to me with anything-My kids are still young, but I want them to know that no matter what it is, they can always come to me.  I’d prefer to know what is going on and try to help them no matter how bad the situation is, their parents will always love them.

Back To School with Crayola (giveaway)Closed

Crayola is making crayons with solar power, markers from recycled bottle caps and colored pencils from reforested wood, they are doing this by using solar power, reducing waste and protecting the rainforest. To inspire our kids today to grow up to inspire a healthier world.

There new green products consist of:

    1. Crayola Markers – Thanks to new, innovative ways to manufacture Crayola markers from recycled bottle caps, “black” is the new “green!” Crayola markers will now have black barrels instead of white, which allows for more recycled plastic to be used and gives a second life to more than 1 million pounds of plastic bottle caps. Plus, switching to black barrels keeps hundreds of tons of plastic out of landfills each year. Available in 10-ct. Broadline Classic Colors, 10-ct. Broadline Assorted Colors, 10-ct. Fineline Classic Colors, 8-ct. Washable Broadline and 8-ct. Washable Fineline.
    2. Crayola Green 24-ct. Crayons – The quintessential school supply found in virtually every elementary classroom will be made with the power of the sun. More than 26,200 solar panels will convert sunlight into electricity, generating the energy required to make 1 billion of the 3 billion crayons Crayola makes each year, which equals 60 million 24-ct. boxes. Mother Earth will be smiling down on every forest green, pine green and jungle green crayon that rolls off the assembly line!
    3. Crayola Green Colored Pencils – Committed to protecting the rain forests since 1987, all Crayola colored pencils have been made from reforested wood instead of wood sourced from tropical rainforest or endangered species. For every tree used, a new tree of the same species is planted. The 12-, 24-, 36-, and 50-ct. boxes of Crayola Colored Pencils will be among the first to carry the “Eco-Evolution” callout on their packaging.

*** I really like that a brand we trust  is going the extra mileo  to help the earth.  We have always been big on trying to recycle and conserve, so getting my children more involved and helping them learn about the new green crayons is exciting for them. They draw and write just like the original Crayola.

I have a Green Pack of Crayola to giveaway to one reader(Everything featured below).

    My Back To School Tips

    Top Ten:

1.Look around your house-I’ve found crayons, pens unopened in boxes that i put away. so always look around te house for useful BTS items

2 Use your gift cards up-I have ton of gift cards that i have not used yet, so need BTS items use up those gift cards that laying around.

    3. Shop discount and thrift stores- I know a lot of people would disagree or be disgusted, but Thrift stores have a lot of great clothes and our very cheap, I always look their before hitting department stores. (Found Tommy Hilfiger Jeans with tags on $5.99)

4.Stock up-If you see a really good sale like 25 cent crayons, buy a lot you will be needing them in the future and their will always be a kid in need.

5.Take your child to school beforehand-take your child to school and show them around where there class is and a spot where you will be picking them up everyday. (specially kindergarten)

    6. don’t brown bag it- buy a reuseable bag and sandwich container for lunches it will save money on bags and foil.

7.prepare your child-have them do some work before school starts look over old notes, that way they will remember what was taught last year.

8.Deals and coupons- always look around for the best deals, Staples usually has great deals. Cut coupons out too it’ll save tons of money.

9.clean out your childs backpack. before school starts, make sure there are only neccessary items in childs backpack. This probably should be done regularly to help maintain organization.

10.designate a quite time area- Noises, tv and toys are all very distracting to children when homework needs to get done. make a area just for your child to have a small work space of their own distraction free.

Wubbzy Goes To School DVD Review

    Product Description:

puts the “cool” in “school” with six charming episodes that will have everyone ready to hit the books.  In “Who Needs School?,” Wubbzy is nervous about going off to school for the very first time and decides he can learn all he needs to know on his own.  When things don’t work out as expected and Wubbzy has no one to play with, he realizes that maybe school isn’t so bad after all.  In another episode, “New Kid On The Block,” Wubbzy learns that meeting and accepting new friends can be a big! big! big! job. When Murphy, a larger-than-life new student, joins the class, Wubbzy finds that good friends can come in all shapes and sizes.

     Episodes:

    • Wubbzy Goes To School
    • New Kids On The Block
    • Gotta Dance
    • Wubbzy The Star
    • You Gotta have Art
    • Magic Tricks

**** I was a little disappointed that the Wubbzy goes to school episode is kind of old. It’s one we have seen a lot actually. Wubbzy is all excited to start school, but when his friends tell him how unfun it is, Wubbzy is nervous about going. In the long run everything works out.  I have been trying to find ways to ease my daughters mind for Kindergarten, shes a little nervous and watching her fav characters, on their first day of day of school was helpful.
